Download the rebirth games on wii or wii u?

With the nintendo shop set to die soon .
Which console would be the best to download (contra castlevania gradius) games on?

Is the wii u a safer bet then then the wii ?
I read somewhere that if you lose your downloaded games on the wii you cant get them back is this true?
Any info would be great
Also what console would they look the best on kind regards.

I was thinking the same and I went with... when I want to play those games, I will just soft mode my wii and test them from the "internet";)... My understanding is that you can buy until today 25th (check on this not sure) then you have a year to download the games and after that, they are gone. On a original wii is where I would play them.

The Konami Rebirth games are only available on the Wii Shop Channel for the Wii and vWii Mode on the Wii U. You can transfer them to the Wii U with the Wii U Transfer Tool.

Regardless of whether you have them on the Wii, Wii U or transferred them to the Wii U, you won't be able to re-download them once the Wii Shop Channel closes. The ability to purchase Wii Points ends on March 26th, 2018 at 1:00 P.M Pacific Time / 4:00 P.M Eastern Time / 9:00 P.M UK Time

So it's past the deadline for purchasing Wii Points and I can still buy Wii Points. Just a heads up for anyone who wanted to buy stuff but thought they were too late.

EDIT: It looks like the Wii Shop Channel is now undergoing maintenance. Presumably to remove the ability to purchase Wii Points.
