Running a BVM20F1e "low-miler" (~15000 hours). Bought a BKM-25P add-on board, which has also Y/C capability. I then hooked my beloved C64 to the Sony (Y/C) and the picture quality is really good (it's *not* possible to get rgb out of C64). However, there is a really slight flicker, which is not present with rgb or composite (BKM-25P also supports composite) sources. It almost looks like a low refresh rate usually looks like, but not exactly. Hard to explain :/ Haven't tried other cables, but as I have not noticed the flicker before with the same cable (hooked up to a consumer grade tv set) I suppose the cable is ok.
Is this (flickering y/c) something, that is widely known/easy to fix (a certain setting maybe?)? Unfortunately I don't have any other (y/c) source than several C64s.
Is Commodore 64 (which I'm not that familiar with anymore) running at 480i interlaced? Interlaced content commonly flickers and is sometimes more visible on a higher end monitor.
Try running a PS2 (a mostly 480i system) if you have one and see if that looks similar.

Actually the (pal) C64 outputs 576p. I wonder if the problem actually is that the Sony expects interlaced video when it's coming via the Y/C? Unfortunately I don't have a PS2 available at the moment. I'll check the manual for the add-on card once more.
