Hey guys! I'm trying to revive my old Playstation with composite connectors. My issue is I have a modern hdtv with HDMI only. My amigo showed me a composite video converter, https://bzbexpress.com/CON-AV-HD4K-Comp ... exPro.html. Is this all I need? If so, is $100 price reasonable? Because I'm finding more options on amazon for only $15. What's up with the price difference? Will the cheap ones work as well.
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Composite to HDMI converter problem
It depends on what you want to get out of your PlayStation. If you just want the cheapest solution, then get one of those $15 converter boxes. The downside is that these converters will add lag, and they won't improve the quality of the blurry mess that is composite.
If you go this route, I would recommend a slight upgrade to S-Video over composite (assuming you can find a good-quality PlayStation S-Video cable for a reasonable price, and not one of those thin, crappy ones that have both composite and S-Video connectors), as this will at least result in a clearer picture.
If you care about the games actually looking good and proper on your modern TV, and you have the budget, you'll want to pick up an OSSC (Or a Framemeister, if you want good deinterlacing and have even more money) and a PlayStation SCART cable from either Retro-Access.com or RetroGamingCables.co.uk. (If you plan on getting this cable from Retro-Access, and you plan on only ever using it with your original PlayStation, ask for the cable to be built with 220uF capacitors instead of the 1000uF caps they normally use.)
