My Framemeister died. Any suggestions?

Post by Jameson Rook »

Hey guys, long time lurker but decided to register today because I can't find any place to discuss technical Framemeister issues. My unit is a year old and has never gave me any problems until today. Below are the details:

- My AC adapter for the Mini died so I bought a new one.
- The Mini powers up but it's stuck on the green power light. There is no picture and no other lights show up.
- The remote fails to function as soon as the unit is turned on. The buttons on the unit (except the power button) do not work.
- I switched HDMI cables and AC Adapters just in case, but neither of them work. Also changed inputs from RGB, Composite and Component but no luck either.
- The only way to shut off the unit is by holding down the power button.

I've tried downgrading and upgrading the firmware and while the flashing process seems to have went trough, but it doesn't solve anything. I was wondering if my unit is done for? I've tried contacting Micomsoft since I bought it there but no response so far. I would be extremely grateful to any suggestions, thanks a lot.

Update: I contacted Micomsoft and they told me to hold down the safety button but that didn't fix anything. I might have to accept the real possibly that I might end up with a $300 paperweight.

I used a third party PSU for a year until it died, but then I realized I could just use the PSU that came with the unit (which is what I'm using now). I'm in Asia and Micomsoft supplied the correct adapter thankfully.
