Hi, maybe sesome of you can remember my thread asking for a new TV. I decided now to wait for the next generation, and keep my old TV. I am also saving money currently for a better scaler option like the frameister or OSSC.
But as I want to use my retro consoles now, I am thinking of getting an S-video to HDMI or Rgb scart to HDMI Scaler to use my retro consoles (sega saturn, dreamcast, n64 and the gamecube.
As a European Guy RGB should be first choice. I also have a rbg scart cable for the dreamcast and saturn already. On advantage of rgb scart is that my pal gamecube also can use it. S Video on Pal gamecube is not possible.
This will only be a stop gap solution I do not expect best quality.
But would be pleased what you guys would recommend? S-Video or RGB Scart?
S Video to HMI Converter or RGB Scart to HDMI converter ?

I say get an even older TV
any decent working CRT will serve you well and it's the real thing, not just a makeshift solution to tide you over.

Re: S Video to HMI Converter or RGB Scart to HDMI converter
FYI the common chinese SCART-HDMI converter accepts RGB, S-Video, and composite when fed through the appropriate pins with correct switching voltages. But of course, quality isn't great.
The better and still cheap solution might be the GBS8200 series with custom settings, a WIP discussed right here.

@Xer Xian Yes looking for a nice CRT would be my plan B. It is not to find one but quite difficult to find a decent one. So i need to research about that matter too.
Ryoandr Thanks for your advice as well.
