Sony BVM-20F1U Different Alignment On Different Channels?
More BVM questions!
So, I have a NES, SNES and Sega Genesis connected to my BVM. The picture for each system requires different alignment settings to properly fill the screen. While I can customise different settings on different channels, that does not seem to work with the alignment. The alignment stays the same across all channels. So instead of simply setting different alignments to different channels, I have to go into the menu and adjust the horizontal and vertical sizes and positions each time I want to switch game systems. It is a bit of a pain. Am I missing something? Is there some way to set different alignments to different channels so that I do not have to adjust the setting each time I want to play a different system? Do any other BVM owners have this issue?

You can use the four available geometry slots (4:3 overscan, 4:3 underscan, 16:9 over, 16:9 under - just disregard what they're called) to save four different settings. Each channel will remember which "slot" you selected.

Under the channel settings (where you select which input the channel uses, assign a name etc) you can adjust the horizontal phase (I think it's called) This can be adjusted for each channel individually, adjusting the image vertically per channel is not possible though.

Re: Sony BVM-20F1U Different Alignment On Different Channels
I'm having the same issue - but with BVM A20F1U. I'm switching from Genesis to SNES and back... the Genesis slides way off to the right of the screen and leaves a large blank column visible.
It appears that all geometry settings on this monitor are "global" and not channel specific.
I will play around with it some more, but if anyone knows any workaround for this on A-series I'd appreciate it.

Re: Sony BVM-20F1U Different Alignment On Different Channels
While this topic is resurrected...I haven't tried using those 4x settings as memory banks for different consoles. Some people say the 16:9 (for example) isn't able to be expanded top-to-bottom enough to be used as a preset for a 4:3 console. Have you found this to be the case? I know (think it was my NES) wasn't able to be expanded enough for a game or two to hide some of the funky things going on in the margins (and that was using the regular 4:3 setting). This was on a D20F1U though (if that's drastically different than a 20F1U in this regard).Fudoh wrote:You can use the four available geometry slots (4:3 overscan, 4:3 underscan, 16:9 over, 16:9 under - just disregard what they're called) to save four different settings. Re: Sony BVM-20F1U Different Alignment On Different Channels
I haven't tried any overscan / underscan workarounds, but as it turns out the other poster's information also applies to A-series BVM: the HPHASE, which is per channel.
I was able to stretch the HSIZE (global) *and* tweak HPHASE (per channel) so that Genesis and SNES both fit.
HSIZE has to be pretty big for Genesis to fit... which causes SNES to just *barely* fit. But it does work.
Anyone know what someone with a PVM 20M4U could do to deal with this issue?? I have one of those as well, and I'm curious.
