I dont know electronic only the really basic stuff. My sony bvm 1310 that i bought 2 weeks ago come with a noise on startup that goes away 1 min later.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcx7PaeWeF8
The noises come arround that transformer (or itself). In the diagram below that transformer is called T1. By turning on and off the monitor the ci STR 8124 (called Q1) burnt by the second time. ***attempt the Q1 only blown the 2 times by consecutive turning on and off the monitor so im not sure if its related with the noise.
http://www.retrorgb.com/files/monitorma ... Manual.pdf
The manual is about the bvm 2010 but the power block is exactly the same as mine bvm 1310. On page 3-23 u can find the simplified diagram (the GA board is the power supply), on page 5-75 u can find the full diagram and u can see the Q1 before the T1 (the bigger one in the top). On page 5-73 you can find the real board image so u can see where the components are and comparing to my video u can see the T1 and some capacitors (C64 C65 C1 C2), this is the portion recorded in my video where the noises come.
*****The image on the tv only works properly, when the noises start to go down, if you follow my video from 0min20sec u can hear approximately on 21 or 22sec a little sound (clamp) like a switch, this sound come after the image estabilize. Only things that i tested properly is the D28 and D27 and the resistors with them. I have capacitors to replace the C1 C2. i bought a STR 8124 (Q1) and it will probably arrive in 2 days and the monitor will turn on like last time.
Please help, if anyone need more info talk to me. If anyone need help or me to test something on the monitor just ask. Thanks

The BVM might not be multi-voltage and upon googling it seems that Brazil has no standard voltage, so that might be the problem.

if multi voltage you mean 110/220 the monitor have a switcher for that, and it is correctly positioned for 110. And somehow the fuse is blowing only after Q1 blown and shortingLawfer wrote:The BVM might not be multi-voltage and upon googling it seems that Brazil has no standard voltage, so that might be the problem.

In the US some monitors will only work with 120V and 60Hz, in Japan some monitors will only work with 100V and 50/60Hz, while other who are multi-voltage will work with 100-240V and 50Hz/60Hz.zoiassoo wrote:if multi voltage you mean 110/220 the monitor have a switcher for that, and it is correctly positioned for 110. Upon googling, some areas in Brazil use 110V/60Hz, other uses 127V/60Hz and some use 220-240V/60Hz, I dunno if the monitor is multi-voltage but 127V is kinda out of spec, so the monitor might not like that.

3-pin power plug
Voltage selector AC 100/120 & 2201240V
",10%, 142W (typical), 160W (max)
Line frequency 48 to 66Hz
this is not the problem,
***edit: oh w8 here is 127v 60hz the monitor range is to 120, maybe the problem? Oo

if that was the problem the Q2 should be gone too... 2 times Q1 got damaged and Q2 still going fine

Problem fixed by replacing capacitors C1 and C2 on GA Board (PSU)
