Play entire library of PSP games original hardware via ISOs
I want to be able to play the entire library of all the good PSP games on my original PSP system via ISO downloads (or another method).
I desire to do so in two flavors: Portable and on the TV. These are both crucial for me as a fulfilling experience.
However, if I were to download the library to (or to play on) my PSP, what would be a good, efficient way of storing all the ISOs to play the games portabley and/or at home? I imagine the PSP's limited space can only hold so much, so what is a good option for home and/or on the go?
Thanks!

I would imagine for travel something like this would be handy. https://www.amazon.com/UCEC-Micro-Memor ... tops&psc=1
It'll allow you to use 2 microsd cards as a single memory card on the PSP. I think it supports up to 2 32 gig micro sd cards so 64 gigs total. I believe a lot of PSP games are only a couple hundred megabytes so you should be able to store a huge chunk of the library this way.

I have the dual adapter with 128gig cards. It works, but load time is pretty slow once you fill it up.Johnpv wrote:I would imagine for travel something like this would be handy. https://www.amazon.com/UCEC-Micro-Memor ... tops&psc=1

I have a few questions:
1. What is the maximum amount of space that PSP systems can generally hold? (Is it the same for every system?)
2. Why buy one that has dual 32 gig SDs, when I could buy a different adapter that could hold presumably more space on a single SD?
3. Do you have experience with one of these? I'd like to know.
Thanks!

1: I don't think anyone's run into a limit yet. There might be a limitation somewhere, but no one has really spent the 500$ for microSD cards to test what would be the current maximum (800GB). It's the same for all systems except the PSP Go which is limited to 32GB.Logan Jones wrote:I have a few questions:

2: Dual adapter meaning an adapter that fits two microSD cards. Two cards can store more than one. If you're asking why not use a larger regular SD card? No way to fit that physically in a PSP.
3: If you're asking if people have experience with dual microSD card to memory stick adapters, I used one but found the slowdowns when opening them in menus too annoying.
At any rate, the PSP isn't meant for organizing so large game libraries so you'll have to spend a lot of time organizing or finding the games you want to play each time. The convenience of having all games available really won't outweigh the inconvenience of what you have to do to make them easily available.
Oh and if you don't go with the 400GB*2 setup you might have to use compression/ripping to fit all games. The entire US library compressed is about 365GBs and some of those titles compress really well, I'm not sure you would be able to fit them uncompressed in 512GB. And figuring out what compression settings to use must be done on a game per game basis with testing. Ripping content also must obviously be done on a game per game basis with testing.

Thanks for the info!
However, is there a more suitable forum I can discuss this? This has been very helpful, but I need more information on this topic.

The PSPgo only accepts Memory Stick Micro M2 and the maximum capacity is 16GB (however you can actually only use 14GB). It also has internal memory of 16GB (only 14GB available to store games).
PSP-1000/2000/3000 accepts standard Memory Sticks, no internal memory.
The PSP-1000 has no output capability.
The PSP-2000 can output only with component cables and only in 480p
The PSP-3000 and PSPgo can output in both 480i and 480p and both have an option for wide color space (however I dunno if this option is only restricted to the PSP screen itself or if it carries over to the output as well).

You have indeed received a lot of answers on here already (you're pretty lucky : some post receive just one or sometime no answers because they get lost in the volume of posts that this thread receives).Logan Jones wrote:Thanks for the info!

Maybe try the PSP subforum over at psx-scene.com?

PSP Go is my choice for PSP gaming on the big screen because it supports Dualshock controllers. Bit of a faff to set up (needs a PS3 as well as I recall, at least for the initial setup) but once done it's much nicer than playing with the PSP with all the wires dangling off it.
I'm not too fussed about having the entire library on the PSP, personally my gaming PC is attached to the same TV so swapping games over only takes a few minutes anyway.

Same here, it isn't easy to get all the items and setup at first, but once you do you can enjoy native PSP games on the actual PSP hardware on the big screen (rather than to rely on the ugly emulation from the PS TV), you need a PS3 to sync your Dualshock 3 to the PSPgo in the first time and you will need to resync it as soon as your hook it up again to a PS3, so basically you need to keep that controller unhooked and use it exclusively for the PSPgo, use the official Sony Dualshock3 charging dock each time you want to recharge that Dualshock 3. With this, the PSPgo has become a console rather than a handheld.BuckoA51 wrote:PSP Go is my choice for PSP gaming on the big screen because it supports Dualshock controllers. You can expand the capacity of a psp go if you’re willing to open it up and adapt it to use a full ms pro duo card. I’ve had a frustrating couple attempts to solder my own adapter as well as use an adapter ribbon from https://m2adapter.cart.fc2.com/ca1/1/p-r-s/
I’ve gotten the ribbon to function some of the time. So the potential is there, but frustrating to perfect.
