Hello,
My name is Erik W. I am into programming, gaming, tennis, and online poker.
I am especially into NES and SNES retro gaming.
I have a ViewSonic HD 1080p monitor (model: VS12264). I just bought a new 4K setup, and I had to buy the Framemeister XRGB-mini in order to go to analog signals to digital for my Nintendo NES. The NES output looked crappy on my UDH TV, but very nice (720p) on my ViewSonic HD monitor (so I am trying to get my HD monitor to work first). The only issue I had was that the NES would only display on my ViewSonic monitor with 720p or 1080i, but if you set it 1080p, the screen goes black?
I am just playing around with things, and I think getting to 1080p will result in a crisper and more clearer image.
When, I use the 1080p setting on the Framemeister while hooked up to my 4k TV, it works, but just looks terrible.
I am just stumped, this 1080p setting should work cause my monitor is 1080p as well...
Does anybody know a setting or workaround in order to fix my issue?
Thanks.
Erik W.

If you disable v-sync and it still doesn't work, then it's a hardware issue (likely a bandwith issue with the cable).

Thanks, when I disabled V-Sync it worked!
I don't understand why that fixed it, was it just a v-sync setting that was wrong?
Cause, I had this monitor for a long time, and v-sync for all my video games, like Halo, always worked.
Thanks bro.
My next problem to fix is how to get that 1080p Framemeister output to look good on my 4k TV.

Re: For Framemesiter XRGB-mini, 1080p not working on HD moni
that's different. With your PC your monitor is running at a standard VESA refresh rate and your PC (and game) syncs to that. On the Framemeister (with v-sync enabled) the FM's output reflects 100% the input refresh rate (here your NES') and that's likely a bit out of spec. Thanks, when I disabled V-Sync it worked!

Might be an extremely picky monitor. Have you tried switching v-sync off and then on again while it's working ? Does the picture disappear again ?
What TV do you use ? 720p or 1080p need to be rescaled by your TV for the 4K panel, but it shouldn't really make the FM look bad.

Re: For Framemesiter XRGB-mini, 1080p not working on HD moni
I tried switching the V-Sync on and off, and it only works when off, but hey it works.
Also my TV is called the 49S403, it's a Roku TCL Television.
I ordered an 1080p to 4k Upscaler: https://www.protechet.com/products/2petptk
Hopefully it will work, it arrives by Tuesday.
But, at least I don't have to buy a CRT, my Nintendo NES works now on a big enough sized 1080p HD computer monitor.
Thanks.

without v-sync the lag gets a little bit higher and smoothly scrolling games might exhbit a frame jump here and there as the FM basically converts the incoming framerate to a standard framerate like 59.94Hz.I tried switching the V-Sync on and off, and it only works when off, but hey it works.
