Just picked up the 55" for $599 and it's a magnificent set that gives you 4K+HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Contrast is rated over 7000:1, and input delay is measured at around 14ms in SDR and HDR. I wouldn't mention this TV if I hadn't tested out the OSSC on it and here's a video of it in action:

Well worth the money and won't hit the wallet too hard.

I'd say the only big issue is PWM. Looks like a great TV overall!

Do you think this is about the same, just larger?: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NA00WW3 Also, does 480p x2 work through it?

Scroll down and you can see a comparison between that and the P607. The one you linked lacks FALED backlight zones, Dolby Vizion, and could potentially have different lag numbers- I'd test before buying.retrorgb wrote:Do you think this is about the same, just larger?: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NA00WW3 Also, does 480p x2 work through it?

Oh yeah...apparently, they only make the "P" series in 55". I'd like a small one to replace the Samsung in my office and a friend needs a new big one for her main TV. I was hoping the 43" and 65" would be just as good. Wishful thinking though.

Do you have a Leo Bodnar? You could take that or an OSSC with you to a Best Buy if they happen to have any on display. If you're able to test any size of that model it's decently likely that all the sizes will have the same scaling.retrorgb wrote:Oh yeah...apparently, they only make the "P" series in 55". Also they only have a 55" on Amazon, but have you looked elsewhere for the P series to see if there are any other sizes available?

Re: TCL SP605 SP607
As for the lag on those TVs, I found a review on it that says it has very low input lag compared to other 4K TVs. 14.6 ms for 1080p, 14.9 ms for 4K with HDR. In the review I saw, it explicitly states the lag is similar to the P607.bobrocks95 wrote:Scroll down and you can see a comparison between that and the P607. Here's the full review if you're interested: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/s- ... -2017-s405
They gave it a 7.5 overall, with 8.7 for video games and 8.1 for HDR Gaming. Everything else was a 7, except TV Shows with was a 6.8.
The only thing I don't like about it is I can't find a 43 inch that ships to Canada. As someone with a 10 year old TV on a budget, I want this one.

Ah I should have checked rtings for the S series too.
The advantages I see for the P Series are:
-Local dimming
-Higher contrast and peak brightness
-Significantly higher color gamut for HDR
-Dolby Vision support.
The S sounds good if you're looking to mostly play SDR games.

Re: TCL SP605 SP607
Do these TVs, either the S or P series, support PAL and/or 50Hz?
