I'm an avid fan of the PSP, and I am aware that PSONE classics on the PSP run in 240p in interlaced mode on a CRT. However, I was wondering if it was somehow possible to mod a PSP, or downscale the PSP's resolution into 240p. I love playing retro games on a CRT, and I was wondering if there was a way to run PSP games in 240p.
I am also aware that there is a device called an Extron RXI that can downscale 480p into 240p, and since the PSP's output resolution is 480p, I wanted to know whether or not it would be possible to downscale the resolution and get 240p this way. If anyone knows a way to get 240p on original PSP hardware, then please reply. Thanks!
PSP games on CRT in 240p possible?
Re: PSP games on CRT in 240p possible?
Downscaling 480p would work, although I'm not familiar with it.
Native PSP resolution is slightly too large for 240p.
If you don't mind interlaced, PSP-3000 and PSP Go can output PSP games in 480i (as well as composite video).
PSP-2000, unless modded, needs 480p component for PSP games.

I haven't tried the Extron 480i => 240p trick on psp actually(since I don't have games that would benefit from this). I'll try it sometime and let you know if it works for me
