Trouble syncing 3dfury and bvm d24
ok so I've tried both a 5 bnc cable and a 3 rca cable to hook up my 3dfury to my bvm. I'm trying to get a picture out of my pc which has a asus rog strix 1060 video card. Using the 5 bnc cable and a t connector for the syncs I can get it to sync but the picture isn't alligned and the top half of the screen is skewed in one direction. If I try to flip the dip switch for rgb alignment controls I lose sync completely. Any help would be appreciated. Also, how can I organize the back of my monitor so that the t connector doesn't prevent from using terminators on the outputs. They are currently blocked as shown here.

Maybe you should invest $30 into a proper sync converter - especially with a monitor of this price. Any of the Extron interfaces will convert RGBHV to either RGsB or RGBS.

Do you think that is entirely the problem? If so then I'll get one asap. The manual recommends an extron 109 or 202. Do you think either would work for the bvm? I used the t connector because someone in the "questions that do not deserve a thread" thread recommended it. Also I'm not sure what either of these dip switches do and how I should have them set :Fudoh wrote:Maybe you should invest $30 into a proper sync converter - especially with a monitor of this price. DIP 2: Sync passed/Sync inverted
DIP 3: Sync forced positive /passthrough
Thanks for helping the eternal noob. I just don't have it in me to actually learn about these things.

The skew on top is definitely caused by this. I would say that there's good chance you'll be fine. You should also try to use a standard timing. Maybe try to set the refresh to 59.94 instead of 60Hz (in the drivers is is often just called 59Hz).
What resolution are your feeding right now?
The dips you mentioned set the sync polarity. Probably won't matter on your setup. You can flip them live to see if it changes anything. It's been AGES since I've seen any monitor or processor actually minding the polarity.

So if I get this one what kind of cable do I input from the 3dfury? Then output with a 4 bnc cable using rgb and s?

Don't get the 202 or any other of the extreme old ones. These don't use a standard VGA input but a custom 9-pin RGB connector instead. Get one with a standard VGA input instead.

As Kez already suggested you in the other thread, you can also set the 3dfury to output YUV instead of RGB, and still use the same cable (only the 3 color channels are needed). I think you also have to set the BVM to internal sync to have a picture.

Right! Absolutely. I didn't catch that you're using a HDFury IV which supports component output as well.

When I use component it syncs but the picture isn't very good. There is a horizontal ghost. Sort of a very light double image. It also isn't aligned. And the brightness and contrast aren't as nice as the rgb picture.
