How do you order, preorder, get on a list? Any information is appreciated.

The site says the switches are sold out, is there going to be another batch?

I believe superG is waiting on the manufacturer and should be posting here soon. I think his goal was to have them available for sale around Christmas maybe a week or two after. What I would do is turn on notifications from this thread and you will be notified when there available. There isn't any list or preorder just first come first serve but he will let everyone know ahead of time.

The units are still not shipped by manufacturer, they are currently finishing gcompsw's. I'm sure that I will get them this year but it will be holidays and everybody needs a rest.
That said the plan is to open the orders in January. I will plan for January 2. Regardless I will be updating this thread with my progress but please be assured that nothing will be available for purchase this year.

I own a gscartsw_lite and several Extron RGB 203Rxi and Extron 201 boxes.

What I've been trying to do is have my gscartsw_lite output to an Extron. I've tried everything, but can't get it to work. I tried every box I had, I wired and checked three cables now.

When I turn a console on, the extron will light up but say "No signal". Looking on my BVM, I can see the image scrolling by very fast, appearing to have some sort of sync issue.

The gscartsw_lite works great, just not connected to an extron.

I think I've ruled out the possibility of it being a bad Extron, I've tried four so far.

Does anyone have any tips? Does anyone output their gscartsw_lite to an Extron?

I just wanted to say thanks to superg for such a great product. I've been gaming since the Atari 2600 days, and I'm having even more fun now than I did back then thanks to indie projects like this. I was lucky to get a gscartsw_lite from the previous batch and score a nice PVM-20L5 soon after. Throw in a few SCART cables (and an RGB mod in some cases) and it's like seeing my games for the first time.

The gscartsw_lite is very high quality and even looks good on the shelf. Thanks again.

Are you using v3.4 version VGA? If so, did you try to toggle CV / HV on the switch?
When image is scrolling on PVM it means that there is no vertical sync, only horizontal.

I am using the gscartsw_lite, not the gscartsw, so I don't have a VGA output port. I had to make a cable that went from SCART to VGA.

I don't know what else it could be. I could be wiring this incorrectly and would be willing to purchase something off the shelf. Is there a recommended cable for sale that would be compatible out of the box?

Does Extron support composite sync, or only separate horizontal and vertical?

https://www.extron.com/product/product. ... 03rxi#spec
Video input: Number/signal type 3 analog VGA-QXGA RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB, RsGsBs
Perhaps it's thinking that its getting an RGBHV signal even though the gscartsw_lite is sending RGBS. I wonder how that could happen.

Well, that's normal, HVSYNC is expected on Extron VGA input. This can be solved by using LM1881 / EL1883 IC in your SCART->VGA cable, basically you have to "decompose" composite sync to horizontal / vertical sync.

I don't disagree, however, the Extron claims that it accepts a ton of different signals in the VGA port, including both RGBHV and RGBS. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to force it to a specific mode, that being RGBS in my case. You're at the mercy of however their signal detection logic works, and for some reason it thinks my RGBS/CSync signal coming from the gscartsw_lite is RGBHV instead of RGBS.

I don't know of any solution to this other than what you mentioned which is stripping the signal and regenerating RGBHV.

I'm curious if anybody has had any success going from a gscartsw_lite to an Extron via RGBS without it thinking the signal is RGBHV.

Hi SuperG,

Wondering if you could help me, I accidentally mixed up power supplies of my OSSC and Gscartsw_lite 1.5 and neither will power on now. I think I know the fuse and diode I need to try replacing on the OSSC. Was wondering if D1 and F1 are what you would suggest to try replacing on the Gscart? And if so could you provide me with the part numbers?

Thanks,

- Hubz

F1 is self recovering. What are the OSSC psu specs, 5V / positive polarity?
What happens with the switch, LED doesn't come up?
Not a good idea replacing components without knowing what died exactly.

Wow thanks for the quick reply. Yep it's 5V positive. No LED lights up, no picture either.

Hi SuperG,
If you could be so kind to indicate, at the proper time of course, the time (hour) orders will be opened on January 2nd you would do a very kind thing for me.
In fact i live in Italy and my time zone is really different from yours , so i should appreciate really a lot if you could indicate time for me to be sure i can be at my PC.
I really need the gscartsw_lite and i really don't wish to miss the appointment.
By the way, a little curiosity: this batch will have a numerous set of unities for gscartsw_lite or they are a few? I ask to understand how much it will be hard to buy gscartsw_lite at this time.
Thanks a lot for your kindness and availability.

The same thing happened to me but only to the OSSC it's either a fuse or a tvs diode I replaced the diode and haven't had a problem.

How many units do you preview to put on sale for this batch?
I don't want the number, only to know if it will be a big or a small sale.
Thanks

Great to hear.

Does PayPal offer a cart system? I'd figure, it's easier to manage and ship a single order if one is looking to purchase both products at once, like myself.

Thank you

I've been refreshing this thread several times a day. Hoping to get a gcompsw. I already purchased a gscartsw lite earlier this year and am loving it! Jan 3rd is my birthday, so I am hoping I can get the compsw to complete my set! Thank you so much for confirming Jan 2nd as the order date. Now I can rest without being paranoid I am going to miss the ordering date.

I've got it working with a 203rxi with a sync strike in the chain straight to extron input.

[Sorry for the double-post, the other went to the wrong section]

I wish to plug in a scart cable http://retrocables.es/tienda/index.php? ... &id_lang=1 from a computer that will have 12v going to pin 8 and to pin 16 with a resistor. I'm told this is because it's scart standard and will tell the TV it's 4:3 and RGB. My question is, would this be accurate and/or cause any harm to the gscartsw_lite and connected device(s)? Thanks.

SCART pin 8 / pin 16 is disconnected on the switch input side. On the output side voltages on that pins are forced 4:3 aspect and RGB mode. Should be fine.
