(help) Eizo FlexScan F77S

Just got my hands on a crt pc monitor Eizo FlexScan F77S. Does anyone know exactly what resolution is thing box looking best ? Some sites say 1280x1024 some 1600x1200.
And, maybe is just me after so many years of being away from crt pc screens, but the picture looks kinda big towards the center (fish eye kind of) because the image is straight on the sides.
Also, 31Hz as low as it can go right?

Judging by the specs 1600x1200 will be livable but 1280x1024 is probably the best compromise.
