Re: Bush: 2017 Edition
I think people simply reject the idea of a serious wall out of hand since it is so closely associated with Trump. An assertion that it "won't do anything" doesn't appear reasoned and isn't convincing.
Re: Bush: 2017 Edition
Happy Moore day, everyone.
You know what they say about politics: there's always Moore and it's always worse.
(Latest FOX News poll says he's gonna lose, but it's one humdinger of an outlier... not that the outlets with recent polls there are good pollsters..)

They've explored replacement migration for us and now we get some instructions on how to feel about where we're headed. Gotta love it.

Re: Bush: 2017 Edition
Capitalist oligarchs.
"Globalist" is a made up word that only dumb people use. It doesn't describe a unique set of beliefs. It describes the beliefs of capitalists. People who deal in capital.
Capital is what "real" money is, what the rest of us use is just made up monopoly money. Almost as much as monopoly money as the monopoly money they'll be paying people when they return us to the era of company towns.

Re: Bush: 2017 Edition
The Fed announced that they'll be raising interest rates to 5%. Funny how we're just now getting the first significant increases in a decade this past year. Really, truly, makes you think.
Re: Bush: 2017 Edition
Yes, we're on the brink of the next recession. Next year is a reasonable bet for when the bottom will fall out. (I kind of waffled back when Gaijin asked me if I thought it would be as bad as ~2008's. I'll go on record now as firmly saying it will be as bad or worse, no cowardice here.)
Bitcoin is going to kill you and everyone you love.
But.
Consider this.
It will also kill everyone you hate.
So isn't it all essentially breaking even, in the end?

Yeah, let's hope so. Trump surely needs one Moore rebuke, and we've got one Less problem if he loses.BryanM wrote:Happy Moore day, everyone.

The #MeToo ball is now rolling towards Trump. Surely saw that one coming. Wonder if this could lead to an impeachment by the end of '18?
There has been a Trump impeachment vote but it failed. This had to do with his bigotry, rather than Russia (hopefully something is to come of that). The vote went 364-58 against, with the 58 being all Democrat. Nancy Pelosi said "Now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment". You just lost me there, "Negative Nancy" Pelosi. Of course, the Trump administration dogs called Al Green and his allies "extremists" for drawing up articles of impeachment.

I guess that inspiring story of Moore turning down a Vietnamese child prostitute didn't work.

You bring up a good point: sometimes I wonder if I should go back to old forums and scrub out those posts I made like a decade ago about how much better Asuka was than Rei.*

Moore is unwilling to concede. "It's not over" he says.
Really? Stop it before I die laughing. You lost, dog. Now knock off the whimpering & go sit down. They said they won't take any Moore.
BTW Moore said earlier that he'd like to nuke all USA Constitutional Amendments following the 10th. Totally nuts.

Meanwhile McConnell seems to be looking to pull a Merrick Garland on Doug Jones by not seating him for, jeez let me look at my schedule, a month at least, maybe even two years.

Re: Bush: 2017 Edition
The best part is that everyone's conveniently forgotten that, back in ancient times (2010), when Scott Brown upset Martha Coakley in Massachusetts, the Dems acquiesced to Republican demands to delay the upcoming vote on the ACA (Susan Collins, of all people, was particularly vehement about how the results obviously proved the American people were disgusted with how much of the bill was "negotiated behind closed doors, rammed through the Senate with limited debate and amendments, and riddled with special deals to garner votes"...you can't make this shit up
) so that Brown could take his seat beforehand. And I guarantee that not a single member of the liberal media will dare bring it up in front of McConnell or anyone else who ought to have it tattooed on their forehead, right next to a portrait of Garland.

According to Trump, this is Bannon's fault for telling him he should have supported Moore... who is an "abysmal" candidate.

Yeah, the donors just want to go back to the time of company towns and paying us in monopoly money. (Not that money isn't already monopoly money, and that real money is capital, but, there's degrees of how far our pretend play money can go.)
Repealing all the amendments and bringing back plantations, that's not the kind of world they want to own.
Possibly because the forthcoming Elon cubes will be more cost efficient.
(Still fun reading all the crying from those butthurt over Moore losing. "I didn't even want that seat!" "This is better for our side!" etc.)
(Even the "This is an empty victory for the dems! We'll get the seat back in 2020!" is giggle worthy. It seems like a perfectly accurate assumption, but, considering this is a transitional period such assumptions might turn out to be 'naught but toilet paper.)
(If you looked at the "this will be Norway" map in the OP, you'll notice Alabama youth voted for Hillary. "Youth" being people under 40. "Not youth" being over 65. As also matched by this exit polling data.)

And now the fight moves to the courts...
Fingers crossed for an injunction.
And triple crossed for a judge who's not a Trump appointee.
Yeah, remember in 2016 when I kept harping on those boring judicial appointments?

And what were the official numbers on that one, even among Republicans only one in five support the repeal, something like that? Y'know, in case anyone still thought that this administration or the party enabling it actually gives a fuck what anyone less rich than them thinks.

Schneiderman is a hero. Hopefully this suit overturns the repeal, and gives Trump another tell-off.
Obama put Pai in the FCC, but Trump promoted him to the head position and got us in this mess.
Trump tried blaming Moore for being such a bad candidate... after the fact. He says "I support you" and thinks "...but if you lose I'll say you were abysmal anyway".
Just how is this Bannon's fault? You failed at a thing called thinking for yourself, Trump. Learn it if you can.
