Panzer dragoon saga ha soo many, but favourite by far dragon guardian boss from pd2, big green fan tail guy, love the music on that stage.
sestern panzer dragoon saga, brilliant atmosphere, ultimate dragon fight, through the heart greatest atttack ever.
FFX. Some good bosses, fighting yojimbo in that cave, music with the way he sent daigoro was very well done. Fight against sin was cool also, massive boss.
grandia 2. fighting melfice
god of war: Hydra was brilliant, saving wife and kid at end rocked with that floating platform, Aeris is a real bastid. took about 10 goes to kill final form in normal!
shining the holy Ark: kicking Panzers ass then galm appears.
Shining Force 3: Galm fight with julian in part 3, you beat him, then learn hes the most powerful vandal ever! who wants to rule alone.
thunderforce 4: love that stage 10, take out the invincible mech then its the core trying to escape.
radiant silvergun: Soo many, probably the metal bird in saturn mode. Penta vs tetra fight is second.
Probotector/contra hard corps: Fighting atop the giant missile and train boss ruled.
Microcossm. Grey M second part in the brain love that music + ending was nice.
novastorm: Damn I love that game, big giant silicon guy in volcano

Thanks for pointing that out!
I could have sworn it was level 4...
Big Core mkIV Boss has some very impressive attack patterns (Visually & gameplaywise).
Border Down bosses are some what similar.
Here ara a few more unforgettable Boss fights:
Alien Vs Predator 2 (PC) – Predator VS the General with that Mech Battle suit inside the Alien hive, right after defeating the Alien Queen.
Nice dodging action around those huge vertical pillars in the dark.
Radiant Silvergun – Last Stage, the huge Turtle Boss & the Flame Phoenix.
Novastorm (PC) – So many cool boss fights there! The flame Phoenix Boss. Chasing the Stag Beetle Boss down the tunnel, the huge Mech installation at the last stage and much, much more.
Panzer Dragoon 1 – The fight against the Dark Dragon and that flying spider Boss which consisted of two parts with rotating blades. That was one frustrating fight.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS (Though I doubt anyone is playing this game anymore).
Phantasy Star II for me.
This game was one of the first few RPG's I played so there's probably an emotional/nostalgic attachement to this choice. But the level of tension, difficulty, and the time it took to get to the few bosses in this game, make it memorable for me. The boss music along with the epic/tragic story, makes the battles with Motherbrain, Darkforce and Neifirst especially memorable.

Well, the grotesque gentleman you're asking about is this chap:
Beelzebub - Lord of the Flies

http://www.inverteddungeon.com/History/beelzebub.php
http://castlevania.classicgaming.gamesp ... s_a-d.html
Apparently he's a biblical demon too and also the leader of the Order of the Fly.
What ever that means?

If you haven't played against all the bosses in the inverted Castle then I suggest that you do, since you would be missing some of the most epic Boss battles of the CastleVania series.captain ahar wrote:thanks. apparently i haven't faced him (didn't know he was in the reverse castle), but hey i asked for it.

That's sacrilege!
Heracy, Infidel, Savage!
You're going to burn in the fiery pits of gaming hell for that statement!

and give me rondo or give me death. no, i can't beat it (not even with maria :B), but it is way more entertaining than the modern dracs (aside: these are the only ones i can complete).
I have no sig whatsoever.
By the way, I have wanted to ask you for some time now, what is that kity cat with the pirate hat and grim look in your avatar?
Is it as ruthless & cutthroat as it looks?

Man, I bought this game roughly three years ago, and I'm STILL levelling up!POSSIBLE SPOILERS (Though I doubt anyone is playing this game anymore).
Phantasy Star II for me.

We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.
lol! Yeah leveling up sure is a bitch in this game by today's standards. This game kicked my ass for almost a whole year!it290 wrote:Man, I bought this game roughly three years ago, and I'm STILL levelling up!POSSIBLE SPOILERS (Though I doubt anyone is playing this game anymore).

Oh man, just remembered one of the most intense boss fights -- the Star Wolf team in Star Fox 64. I had trouble with that fight for weeks; Andross was cake in comparison.
*hi five* Iga really messed CV, but that's for another thread :Pcaptain ahar wrote: and give me rondo or give me death.. but it is way more entertaining than the modern dracs (aside: these are the only ones i can complete).

I did great so much water and milk that I threw up when I was little.
Sadly, satan is the easiest part of that game. He's fast as a mother fucker but if you time your first shot right you can kill him every time as he zips on screen. Plus, he's tiny - even smaller than the regular enemies.Dale wrote:11.Satan Satan,s Hollow
But, you're right. Building a bridge across the River Styx to kill Satan is totally sweet.
Super Spacefortress Macross/Chou-Jikuu Yousai Macross (Arcades)
Final Boss, the Zendradi Fortress with the huge Eye in the center. The massive laser beam fired by the eye must be the widest in any video game.
A truly remarkable and very memorable moment, trying to dodge it.
Life Force (NES) (Boss 1 – The Brain with the tentacle arms.)
Bionic Commando (NES) – Hitler Boss (Watching Hitler’s brains blow up can’t be any more memorable than that really!)
Ninja Gaiden III (NES) – All Boss fights were awesome, but especially against these two gentlemen!

Thunder Force V – Guardian’s Knight Last Blast. (PSX)
That was one kick-ass fight, especially watching him concentrate all his remaining power into one huge laser blast right before he dies, as if he wanted to take you with him!
So Japanese in style and very dramatic indeed!
Technosoft should have added a quote like: “I’ll see you in hell!”, or “I’ll Blast you all to hell!”
RayStorm – Stage 1: Boss Pendragon. And Stage 3: Boss Zenobia.
You gotta love the fight over the waterfall as the Zenobia battle ships decends from the sky firing all those crazy beams at you, or chasing after the Pendragon multi assault tank through the ravaged city.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that guy!
The other quote I mentioned “I’ll Blast you all to hell!” comes from the Final Fantasy Spirits Within Film, right before the General fires the overloaded Zeus cannon against the Phantoms' Crater!
Very dramatic scene even though it wasn't a Boss battle.
Another game that needed those two quotes is Doom3.
As soon as you defeat the Stroggified Sarge Tank Boss, it would have been cool & scary if it was used as his last agonizing death cry.

Mercs: The train that takes up several screens in stage 5.
Thunderforce IV: Stage 10 midboss. The mech gets out of the way, then there's a HUGE fireball shot at you which nearly takes up the whole screen.
Salamander 2: The final boss. Wait'll you hear what he has to say when you've taken him down. He's not a graceful loser.
DDPDOJ: The Queen Bee (5th stage).
Armored Warriors: Warlock. Uses some ninja-like moves and likes to sneak attack you with his machine guns at pointblank range.
Blazing Lazers: The Space Siren.
Streets of Rage 2: Zamza. An annoying son of a bitch, until you hammer him with a few Max Thunder tackles. He'll usually block them and eat a ton of guard damage.
R-Type: Just about any of the bosses.
Zed Blade: Cosmic Slime, being such a blatant rip-off of R-Type's Kraken.
Border Down: 6C boss. You're fighting a ship similar to yours. only with some nastier tricks up its sleeve.
Crisis Zone: Tiger & Edge. "Guhahahaha! No one can defeat us. Never before & never after!".
Time Crisis 3: Wild Dog & Wild Fang, who double team you.

Kinect? KIN NOT.
I just reached the the part on Rez where you chase some giant figure through a bunch of tunnels. That's pretty fucking cool. In fact, all Rez's bosses are fantastic to watch.
Although an obvious choice, I don't think many people would forget the first time they faced the stage 2 boss in Axelay. Or the stage 5 one for that matter.
One of my all time favorites has alwayays been the first boss on Strider though. Just something very creepy about the encounter, the crowd watching from the background when you first enter the scene, the music, and the general coolness of being able to climb all over a boss while kicking its ass.
