Just got the TV to my second home and right now taking the train back to my main home.
Grate picture, sliding to the side and down with minimum wobble.
But the remote was bust and the remote I had for my other sony have no ok button. Every other function works fine. Have built-in ir in my phone so will have to try that later..... W8 just now remembered I have an other sony remote..... Looking at the manual for that TV.... Yeah that one has an OK button. Will have two test that this weekend. Will report back with the difference in picture.

1 4 to change menu 3 6 to change setting. Mute 0 to save settings.
You don't need the ok button.
No i mean the regular menu, that's were this option is located. And that mute 0 thing has not been needed in any of my previous 2 trinitrons. And on eu TVs the last button to press is not power, instead it is the TV button (that's the square with nothing in it) Spoiler
So pressing this info 5 volume up tv combination actually turns the TV on, no power button needed. And to get out of it you don't even have to turn the TV off, just press that TV button again and you're out.
Well I got home and used my other sony remote today navigate the menus. And what do I discover? The option simply is not there. Odd.
Later in the service menu (access by pressing any of the 3 buttons on the TV while you turn the TV on with the main power switch) I found an option to turn interlace on and off. Turning it off made the scanlines go away but the screen started shaking. Could this be a simular option? Oh and the TV is from Mars 19 1993, stod in the service menu.
in the service menu there is an option for interlace. it can be turned on and off. If turned off the image kinda shakes and the scan lines goes away. Why the shaking? Not that I want to get rid of the scan lines but, are there a way to fix it?
i have this weird issue there I cant get the screen to be black and white. Even if I turn the color all the way down. Even in the service menu it dose nothing. Is this because im in 60hz mode.... hm... but why dose contrast and brightness work then??
It sounds like maybe the interlace option is treating 240p content as if it is 480i, which obviously you wouldn't want. If you have a way of running 240p test suite you could investigate further.
As for the B&W - perhaps the color option does not work with RGB input? Often that setting only works with Chroma/Luma based inputs (composite, component, s-video).

well im using a raspberry-pi 3 with recalbox. I have the 240p test suit up and running, NTSC version. I'm using rgb-pi, don't know if that matters, it might not. When I go to the TV input, same thing, even the on screen menu shakes.
