Sony PVM 20M7MDE remote trouble

I recently bought 4 Sony PVM monitors from a local seller. They all worked fine, but I accidentally fucked up one of them with my carelessness while doing an unnecessary factory reset.

It's a PVM 20M7MDE. In the main menu there is an option for "factory reset". I clicked that, and then the monitor rebooted.
After rebooting there was another menu which I just skimmed, I think there were three options here:
1. Local control
2. Remote control
3. Local & remote.

When I was clicking enter for local control, I accidentally clicked down and chose 'remote'.
I really wish I hadn't done this, because now the 'remote' lamp is lit and the monitor will only control via remote!
I can't use it at all, the buttons in the front do not respond, only the power button responds.

So I was hoping there is an easy way to fix this, and switch to local control again.
Can I connect a PC to do this, or does it respond to a universal remote?
Is there a button somewhere or a button combination that can reset it again?

Update:
I found the manual online and in it there is this page which seems to fix my problem.
"Hold the menu/exit button for two seconds"
I don't have access to the monitor atm but will try this in the evening and post another update.
