Vulgus
Vulgus
Everyone seems to have fallen in the love with the game, so a high score table is in order. Any version is acceptable, although if it turns out there are scoring differences I'll split the tables.
Format:
Name - Score - Loop
1. Dale - 316,950 - 2
2. Ghegs - 269,650 - 2
3. Zach Keene - 222,300 - 2
4. Landshark - 213,000 - 3
5. gameoverDude- 204,000 - 2
6. raiden - 203,450 - 2
7. crithit5000 - 159,450 - ?
8. Capt. Takehiko - 156,740 - 2
9. ForteMP3 - 152,150 - 1
10. alpha5009 - 78,850 - 1
I'm not really sure how else to show progress in the game, it doesn't really have levels. I'm open to suggestions.

I guess "loops" are the best we can do. This run just barely saw me returning to the brown background.

It does have joystick support, actually. Click on the Vulgus picture to get a menu, then select Settings, then tick "Joystick support"landshark wrote:yes it is. But if you search "capcom_vulgus.zip" in google, you'll find a valid link. No joystick support though. So I went to mame instead.

Might be a good idea to mention what version you're using. We might be able to notice differences between versions if people playing the same version are all grouped together in the high-score list. Also some people might be playing with keyboards (PC, MAME) while some will be flying around with their favourite controller, with autofire no less. You can always use joy2key to play the PC version and enable autofire that way.
I did some experimenting earlier today and found that playing recklessly pays off. Normally I stay most of the time on the lower part of the screen, grabbing icons when they reach me. Now I grabbed icons as soon as they appeared on screen, and I was rewarded the 10k Star pretty early in the first stage (normally I get it somewhere in the second stage). This score isn't from that run, however, it gets really hard to be on the upper part of the screen on the second stage...

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Don,t worry I have proof that I,ll put up soon but I can,t right now because I have Internet explorer and there,s no capture picture option. Is there someway to post it with internet explorer?
I could email proof to a moderater or anyone else who needs it if that,s neccesary.
If your wondering how this score is possible let,s just say I learned a special trick witch I,m not at liberty to share.(but it,s legal I assure you)
