...I just realized that i'm WASPier than i thought. I like(d) fantasy, and as kid i had these weirds identification problems with Conan, as he's a rough asshole from the mountains as well :?

Then i read Elric of Melnibone': how couldn't i adore a man who destroys everything in order to save it? While destroying the gods, in the meanwhile...

bah, we last remnants of Homo Appenninicus are really a weird breed, indeed.

Haha... I sure can't speak for Ganson here but I have to imagine that Nemo's performance in this thread pretty much embodies whatever the hell it was that made the Professor start this thing in the first place.

This wasn't about all religious folks. Just the ones that "can't lighten up". Undamned is certainly a religous feller, why don't we see him in here hopelessly talking himself into a corner against the slathering dogs of reason and logic? Because his faith is for him and other folks that are interested in pursuing a similar faith. I'm pretty well atheist yet somehow, undamned and I have silently agreed to disagree. Seein's how we're both comfortable in our own existences, there was never even an argument in the first place.

You guys will be the first to know if anyone is injured through this blatant lack of concern.

Taking it light,
Pa
Agreed Pa. Cramming just doesn't work, nor is it respectful, as the Bible commands Christians to be when speaking to others about our faith. Too often, though, people in the church, including myself, are guilty of thinking that we have to always be on the defense for God-which is nonsense. He's God, he can handle it. And that's all I'm gonna say.

That viewpoint certainly makes more sense to me than the God Soldier "I MUST DEFEND HIM AT ALL COST AND CONSTANTLY PESTER EVERYONE" tactic. It implies some actual faith (and security) in God's abilities, rather than the typical "I know what God is thinking and he needs me on the front lines" mentality.

Perhaps because I know the difference between right and wrong.
Fred Phelps for instance feels it is absolutely god's will to go about preaching that god hates fags, which i would generally consider promoting hate, and yet he would probably claim that he is is far more righteous than you and that what he preaches is fully in line with what is "right"
unless of course you also believe god hates fags in which case i'd have to say you have no fucking clue what the difference between right and wrong is.

and fred phelps is fucking old. i've heard the way he keeps himself in shape these days is raping young boys.
I have no sig whatsoever.

Er... Well, what can I say, cowboy hats & french kissing of that kind is not exactly my style, if you know what I mean.
I think I'll pass.

I'll let you know if I should change my mind, even though it won't be any time soon.

Too ... ... lost for words ... to be fake.

That Absu album was cool, btw. The following one even better, with a less barbaric cover though.

No. It's bullet hell. It's supposed to be torment without relief, remember? Also, your hitbox is always 16 pixels more than what you imagine it to be, and you have to navigate Cave-like bullet patterns made up of bullets like this one:

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand what you mean?
I had no intention to offend you if that's what you're implying.

aye.
twas just a heated reaction to words you have written. hate is harmful, so i get angered when people express it, particularly when it is expressed in such a pointed fashion. but honestly, people have their opinions and as there is nothing i can do about that (much as i'd like to believe the alternative), it really doesn't matter.

didn't mean to surprise you or anything. its inevitable when a thread like this is started (thumbs up to the prof... seriously), that people will butt heads over certain things (particularly when a "hothead" like myself becomes involved). understand please, that i hold no personal ill will towards you and yours. :)

edit: this whole thing reminds me of something. i'm an atheist, and i had a girlfriend once who was a believer (of the christian variety). she would invite me to these youth meetings with some of her friends to discuss the faith. one of said friends believed that people who do not follow christianity went to hell. period. someone could be the kindest, most selfless person on the planet. living their lives for the sole purpose of bettering the lives of others... but if they were buddhist. BOOM *fire and brimstone* their eternal reward.

and this same belief is held by so many people. whether it is about religion, race, gender, orientation (or a healthy combination of those mentioned :)).

in short, it makes me curious that a religion so focused on forgiveness, tolerance, compassion, and love (supposedly anyway) could be so exclusionary in who actually deserves that equal treatment...

Yeah, I remember getting toasted by that blast right before the final Boss confrontation in TF4

Now, about the situation you're describing, all I can say is.. Bring it All!

Actually, in my original post I was only trying to be tragicomic & sarcastic (in a funny kind of way) and by no means hateful or angered.

So I guess you misinterpreted my words and intentions.

I had a girlfriend once who was a believer (of the christian variety). she would invite me to these youth meetings with some of her friends to discuss the faith.
Like you said, “of the Christian Variety”, because there are many varieties, but true Christian, (as it is stated in the bible) does not practice relationships or have sex before marriage. ;)

So, I wouldn’t take too seriously what they told you, as everybody will be judged differently in the end.
