40-42" TV for OSSC?

Post by Charlie97L »

My current 40" Sony works great but isn't compatible with the OSSC beyond 2x. I'd love to get a panel that fits in the same spot that's fully able to take what the OSSC puts out. Are there any suggestions? Doesn't have to be 4k, but it can be. Appreciate any suggestions!

I don't know if there's been much investigation [since there's not much of a OSSC tv compatibility list yet], but there might be some passthrough product that could end up saving you the tv replacement... sorry not much by way of concrete advice but something to consider? [...yet to actually test my OSSC ... :/]

Where are you located? I think I'd go with the TLC tv's that are listed in the forums here. Or if your budget is bigger the LG Oleds.

Do the 1080p TVs work as well as the 4k ones?

Are the 4k available in 40"ish?

Thanks!

Best bet is to purchase from a store that has some type of return policy so you have a chance to test out OSSC & console compatibility.

You can also get 40-43" sets with 4K resolutions. For example:

What did you go for? I’m considering replacing my w6 Sony for something more ossc friendly so I can ditch my DVDO edge. It’s needs to have low lag, good 480p scaling and preferably better motion handling than the Sony as it gets a bit smeary at times. Up to 48”.

Oh and I’m in the UK so TCL is out of the question

Picked up a TCL 40S405, and it looks awesome in my quick test. Excited to get the desk rewired and try the OSSC out later today!
