Question about batrider controls
Tried this out last night and the control seemed like it was getting away from me slightly, like the ship moves a little faster than I expect. Is that normal? I'm used to cave shmups.

Re: Question about batrider controls
Basic movement controls are the same as in any shmup, however MAME does have a couple frames of input lag in Batrider so maybe you're noticing that.

Hm. I use groovymame with the d3d9ex build so input lag isn't usually an issue.

Re: Question about batrider controls
It could be because the diagonal speed is different. In CAVE games, the diagonal speed is normalized, but Batrider has fast diagonals:

Re: Question about batrider controls
I've talked with someone who has the pcb and they agree it's just a strange normal effect.

Re: Question about batrider controls
The Korean variant Armed Police Batrider pcb has all-English language for the characters chosen at the beginning of a serious session indeed (and for all ending stories with selected character{s}). It was even sold with an all-English move strip with the typical arcade paperworks package deal with Raizing/8ing Batrider pcb kits as well.
