The S-Video signal of my N64 looks like this since today:
Everything's moving wildly and colors are changing constantly. I attached it directly to the TV, changed the cable, no dice. The cable works fine on the GameCube. Composite works fine. S-Video did work before. Anyone got any idea what's going on?
That's what s-video looks like without the Luma signal. My guess is your cable is broken somewhere, or the connector on your TV is broken. I've had to remove the back of a TV to re-solder an S-video connector before.
I don't think the N64 is anything like the Genesis 2, but if you can, pop it open and look at the solder points for the connector. On my Genesis 2 the entire ground pin's soldering was outright broken.
Well, I found the issue and I feel a little dumb. I rearranged my consoles yesterday I repeatedly put in the AV plug upside down into the N64. For whatever reason it fits perfectly and makes contact, even thought there is this plastic piece standing out on the plug to prevent this.
