why do all the High end tvs like samsung not have most analog inputs like VGA, but cheap low end tvs like Rca and proscan DO have them?
youd think if your paying a lot more youd get more inputs.

Re: inputs
I would say a) because the lower end TVs mainly use boards that have been developed years back and b) because it might be an additional selling point. People buying low end TVs might have more vintage equipment than those buy high-end TVs.
VGA wasn't much use on LCDs though since the A/D sampling never provided the means to get the proper resolution from VGA equipped systems like a Dreamcast.
Component is pretty much still available on most TVs, often by using an included adapter cable.

Marketing.
The lower end TV makes up for maybe not having the better screen, having more inputs might also put it as a better buy over others in the price range.
The high end TVs lack the amounts you want because it is probably on the next model up (or 2) or on their X brand. That 40" inch screen is just what you need but oh no...it only has 2 HDMI inputs....but hey dont worry our 55" model has 4 and component, its only +$500 more!
It's not a cost issue and hasn't been for many, many years. If you or I can buy parts and make our own for $5 bucks, it's pennies for them at thousands of parts they can buy while using Chinese labor.

Not much lack of quality on the proscans. The screens are made by lg display and are sharp.
main problem with proscan is some motion blur.
and... they probably make up for the expensive screen by using cheap capacitors.
Ive never opened mine up to look yet. its still under warranty.
