Crazy seller on Ebay Symbot1

Post by radirgyman »

Not sure if you guys have ever come across Symbot1 on Ebay but he is a total psycho.

I purchased a Zelda SNES mini edition console (Listed as brand new never opened or used) and of course being a scammer he didn't photograph the torn side which was obviously done with a knife.
Cut all the way through the box.

So I asked him to refund me in full upon my return of it.

Also couldn't give me a clear answer as to why he managed to NOT take a photo of the torn cut through the box side.

This is where hell breaks loose.

He basically said to me - You have no idea what a collectible is and its worth more than what I listed it for! (I paid over 1k for it) EEK!
Anyways he kept going on and on and on and got abusive.
In the end PayPal refunded me and it got sorted..

BUT....

He messages me this morning after a few months of this passing by asking me,

Are you still interested in the Zelda console? I acquired another one with a better box that could be sent along with the new contents from the one you received last time. Thanks symbot1

I responded with: No. Hope. In. Hell

To which he then responded with: Yah I don’t deal with noobs anyway

I sent this clown a colourful message.. He then responded:

Funny how I proved to you that flaw was no more than $0-$10 in value, yet the meds you are on you can’t think clearly, what a $0 scam I pulled there fatso. symbot1.

Obviously this guy is bipolar and steer clear from him!

More than happy to post up photos of the original transaction.

I'm guessing it's a model 2 SNES (the one that was packaged with Yoshi's Island). It looks like there was a Target exclusive package that included LTTP instead of Yoshi's Island.

Wow - you spent 1K on it - that is nuts :D

I am not sure why but many of these complete tossers allude to everyone having mental health issues :D More often than not it is them who have manifest the signs of mental illness.

He sounds desperate, full of false pride and completely lacking on any sense of how to handle a customer.
It is good that you got your cash back. I think half the time they hope that the situation will devolve so that they can raise 'he didn't play fair' kind of thing against you through Paypal. The want that as the moment you are negative or abusive towards them they can say that it was you who was abusive all along. I had exactly the same issue with a couple of EBay sellers, luckily it was always solved in my favour and I had the same issue with a member on here called RaidenIII: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 8&start=30
Again, an absolute nightmare of a person and again he was a bit schizo alternating messages of hate and abuse with "let's be friends and I feel sorry for you" - complete nutjob in my book. Still you just have to roll with it and sort it out. Make sure that you always do things by the book and that you can explain exactly what you did and when you did it to PayPal or EBay as you will eventually come into contact with nutters like this.

One of the weirdest I got was once when I was selling Alien Soldier. I got a number of silly 'offers' - you know the "I'll give you $10 for it" kind of thing. Anyway, this one german guy comes along and offers a silly amount of low end cash for it and I say "you must be joking" and he replies "I do not buy from affes ( people from Britain )" - add in parochial narrow-mindedness to the mix along with a poor understanding of making a sensible offer - sounds a bit similar to your Symbot's "noob" hook. All boils down to a lack of awareness really and an astute ability to act like a fool :D

...and the real world is googling to see who is a p%$&y eh? Complete tosspot. Leave him to fester in his own delusions and move on. Also, forward all messages on to Paypal/EBay/whoever as they might shut him down and save you and a few others some grief.

I always suspect that when people try to make "real world insults" it usually means their own life sucks. Also fuck anybody that says shit like "you're not a real collector", that mentality is such rubbish.

To help the gaming community steer clear of this psycho.
A warning.
