Just how rare is the D32/24E1WU?

Post by Mantis128 »

One of my goals is to get my hands on the rare Sony BVM D32E1WU and I was wondering just how rare they are. And where abouts would they be resting?

Isn't the RGB board impossible to find?

The D models have an analogue RGB/YUV by default. Just the A ones don't.

They're extremely rare to find out in the wild. Not that rare if you don't mind paying the big bucks (I know a guy who would part with his D24 for probably 3K right now...think the last one on eBay went for like 2800+crazy shipping for the heavy beast).

I got a D32, it was around 550 euro with less than 30 000 hours. But that was a lucky shot here in Japan, I believe in Europe and America it is way more expensive

I picked up a 24 last year for 800USD with 4000 hours on it. My RGB board didn't work quite right (everything got a blue tint after ~30 minutes on-time), Fudoh helped me with the model number and I picked one up off of eBay for $90.

I've never seen one for sale on Craigslist or any other "in the wild" location, but they hit eBay often enough, though shipping would be a bear if you don't live near the seller. Apparently I'd missed out on the 32 from the same seller for $1200 just a week or two before. Never seen one of the 32's go for not-crazy money.

2 x D24's sold for "buy it now" £200 on Ebay in the UK a few weeks ago

I emailed the company, they had 2 x BVM-D20F1E's , so I drove over there (30 mins away) and got one of them the next day! (£290) :D

their warehouse was like an Aladdin's cave of pro film/tv production equipment, they had a load of 14" BVM, and 17" JVC etc, I was temped but didnt have
much cash on my at the time, and limited boot space!

When the guy asked what I was going to use it for, and I said gaming, he looked at me like I was crazy  :D

To Clarify, they sold 2 x D24's and didnt have more

they had 2 x D20 ,I bought one of them, for £290, and no it has zero issues, and only 6.900 hours , it was missing the remote unit, but I already have one of those.
