BrezzaSoft Crystal System... same leaking battery issue ??!

Hi all

I learned that my Crystal System mobo running The Crystal Of Kings has the very same shitty leaking battery as the one destroying the PGM and older MVS mobo's !

So, as for the PGM and MVS, I thought that battery could be removed without affecting the Crystal mobo to work normally...

However, I have read two different stories about it:
- in his advert, this seller on eBay explained it's working fine without the original battery (it just doesn't save the settings): http://www.ebay.it/itm/PCB-JAMMA-BREZZA ... 1656072328

But in this topic, the guy says his Crystal mobo no longer boots after the battery removal: http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthrea ... gs-battery!!!

Who's right.. any advice ?

Done ! You were right nem, I'm glad to see it works fine !
I've been extremely cautious, it was not that easy to unsolder that battery... The tin is quite hard, had to use a 40W soldering iron!
What a shame this little piece of hardware was abandoned after very few games, the Crystal System is a beast for 2D!
