Overblown White Levels/Saturation on Sony BVM14-G5E

Post by LordBarker »

Hi all,
picked up a small haul of ex-display monitors near me. I get a great picture on this BVM, but the white level/white saturation is really overblown. I have the manual but can't seem to bring it down. I can upload a picture if that's easier, but it's essential like someone has blasted the brightness up for the whites and nothing else. Tried the obvious stuff, but wondered if anyone has had the same issue? Cheers

as I recall there is a device you can plug into the BVM made by Sony to calibrate/fix all that stuff, phonedork talked about it in an interview with retroRGB

There are all these settings in the menu, I think the external probe isn't actually needed for what I need to do.

did you put 75ohms terminators on outputs ?
BVMs require them.

Ordered some from Amazon earlier ;) I'd forgotten about that too since using PVMs most of the time :)
