Also, no. Just, no.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Thanks for that!tjstogy wrote:Btw this is how to stream it right now:
I had no plans and little interest to watch the fight. The hype and curiosity garnered my interest. Indeed it was a good fight.
The after match interviews were really good too. Mayweather is admirable all around, impressive clarity and graciousness!

Oh, I don't know about the. I don't know anything about these guys except what I saw last night.Blinge wrote:Yeah I bet he looked real graceful when he beat his wife..
It was clear that his graciousness was careful and part of his performance. Regardless, I enjoyed listening to well spoken analysis of the event and a refrain from needless boasting.
Re: mcgregor mayweather fight for free?
Well I must agree there.
Mcgregor was chatting some BS at the end for sure though, there's no way he was coming back if the ref hadn't stopped the fight when he did.
Oh that's interesting, so were you a fan of either sport before at all?

Re: mcgregor mayweather fight for free?
Not in the least. Professional sports as a whole are absurd to me - particularly the money behind them, and the manner in which the fans sometimes fetishize their vicarious belonging to and ownership of the athletes and teams.Blinge wrote:Oh that's interesting, so were you a fan of either sport before at all?
Sure I appreciate athleticism, which is why the boxing match the other night was entertaining and interesting. But I'm not a fan of any pro-sport.
Re: mcgregor mayweather fight for free?
Was an ok match, but a silly one. Mayweather didn't look like much of a fighter to me, but I accept he had a strategy (and he's 40!!). Strategy is a big part of boxing, so letting McGregor punch himself out is perfectly acceptable, hence MacGregor looks decent in the early rounds when he's got energy.
But I disagreed with McGregor's comments about the ref stopping the fight - that's a referee's job. McGregor had no legs left and couldn't keep his arms up. A boxing referee isn't meant to let you get knocked out when you have no defense, or you could end up like Gerald McClellan (who should have had the fight stopped earlier in Benn's favour). It shows MacGregor's naivety about the sport to complain about the refereeing decision, when the chap did exactly the right thing.

People at work are saying it's rigged and the stoppage / McGregor's legs going without him even taking a hit are further evidence for this.
I'm not convinced but it wouldn't surprise me.
Ok but silly is a serviceable description. Back to mma (viewing
) for me I think.
I'd make a UFC thread but I can't think of any hype matches coming up. The only thing interesting thing I can think of now is seeing if Shevchenko can give Nunes a decent challenge.

Re: mcgregor mayweather fight for free?
People saying McGregor didn't take a hit know nothing at all about boxing. He was getting smacked left right and centre for almost two full rounds and was visibly completely exhausted for the last 3.
There was no rig, he lost completely expectedly under conditions he has no experience with.

Re: mcgregor mayweather fight for free?
I think they meant the exact moment his legs buckled, and he briefly collapsed on the ropes while mayweather was in the corner but yes I can see that happening after the accumulative effect of what you said.
I don't know anything about boxing either though.
One thing that surprised me was how stiff and formal/ oldschool the presentation of the event was compared to the more modern dudebro UFC.
It surprises me to say I prefer the latter.

Re: mcgregor mayweather fight for free?
McGregor complaining about the stoppage is all an act for a potential second fight, he isn't naive at all, just dissimulates.
