PS4 in candy cab (31kHz or 15kHz) ???

Post by Piafoman »

Hi !

My project: play Battle Garegga Rev2016 (and others games) in my candy Cab with my PS4... but i can't convert signal video OUT to VGA and 480p ...

I tested with:
- HD Fury Gamer edition 1 and the led Blue flashes ...
- HD Fury Gamer edition 2: nothing ...

Do you know a downscaler for PS4 ? (PS4 pro exactly).

Thanks !

the GBS 8100 will take VGA input at 31Khz, downscales the video and output it at 15Khz over RGBS pins

add an HDMI to VGA and you should be all set?! I don't know the PS4 so perhaps I'm just stating the obvious which you've already tried? sorry if that's the case! just trying to help!

Few people seem to have tried, but it looks like the HD Fury Gamer edition without an external power supply doesn't work on PS4.

The DHCP on the PS4 makes it impossible to make the PS4 work on analogue devices.. I have tried and nothing.. I have not been successful also.. A Vewlix on an LCD is what I am using it..

were the HD fury's being being externally powered? also sometimes it helps to have a device that can strip out the HDCP protection from the signal (like an HDMI splitter) although there should be an option to turn off HDCP protection from game content on the PS4. movie content is almost always protected but I remember a lot of news agencies and game streamers complaining to Sony to fix the protection issue with games. I know that the Xbox One works perfectly fine with the HD Fury Gamer 2 (yuv) so I can't imagine that it would have any problems with a ps4. here's a video of it in action (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o_FCjYaJIw)

the only other option would probably be to get one of the newer/more powerful HD Fury options with built-in HDCP stripping.

[The Gamer2 (YUV or VGA) needs a power supply to function with the PS4]

yeah that's what I was thinking, thought it might have been a power issue.
