Just came across this courtesy of the shmups reddit group:
Yakumo is a fan of Japanese games. The video of his tour of Akihabara in 2005 is a real gem. Feels like you're totally there!

Yakumo highlights some STGs on his shows, most notably the Dreamcast:

segagagadomain is dead
fuk fuk fuk fuk fuk fuuuuuuuuuuuuuk

80% of my saturn library knowledge came from it. found out so many titles.
Every time such site dies, i feel something shatters inside me. Same was when gamedic.jpn.org/museum/tirasi AKA console flyers archive fukin died (and nearly nobody backed up it except for partial mirror by GaijinPunch [thx, man!], aaaaaaah).
shhhhhshshshit shit shit.
guess webarchiveorg saved most pages, but without images and videos.

He's still around on Assemblergames. He used to run an FTP to get the videos due to their size. This was, of course, pre Youtube. If you were interested I'm sure there's a way to get them.

Might be, but that's not as important as loosing site overall which is always heartbreaking. And now I have similar fear for every retrogame/arcade site which isn't updated constantly...
Re: Retro Core Webshow
Oh, it's down?! I used to love reading about Saturn and Dreamcast games on there...
Even bought a few games when he operated a little store for a short while.
Thankfully it seems to be somewhat successfully archived through the Wayback Machine:

Re: Retro Core Webshow
Oh, bugger! I think it was Segagaga Domain that had a decent Broken Thunder page with some assets not found anywhere else, but I can't find it on the Wayback archive.

Re: Retro Core Webshow
I thought Segagaga Domain sucked. It was clear from his reviews of the games that he'd only ever played them 5 or 10 minutes at most.
Re: Retro Core Webshow
Sometimes yes, sometimes not. What's more important, they gave enough description in impressions through words + additionally video of it; and so many many titles you may have not encountered otherwise (like those magazine cds and other obscurities).
It's like with HG101 - you may disagree with opinions, but thats not the main point of it, but your acknowledment and discovery.
On a contrast, satakore isnt as much useful as segagagadomain was in that aspect (satakore more like just database and thats all)
edit:
silly fun fact
from my bookmarks, 215 were from it. system11 is currently at 193.
