Had a nice Colecovision collection of about 25 boxed games, boxed super action controllers, roller controller and the steering wheel I gave to friend after my system stopped working. This was about a year into the NES era so I thought I would not want that stuff anymore and had no way to play them. Coleco went down in the great crash and this was before the days of eBay and such.

Still kept the broken system decades later as I had to save up my paper route earnings to buy it. Would be nice to still have all that again!

So a few years ago I decided to make this all right for me and found a guy on the atariage forums who repairs and upgrades Colecos so he fixed my childhood system and I added a loaded up multicart I picked up as well. I am able to live with this now but I still regret it a bit.

Gradius Interstellar Assault. I now have it again, though.

I regret selling Darius Twin for SFC.
There I said it. That game was quintessentially relaxing.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

Not really a shmup, but I now regret selling my Panzer Dragoon Saga US version, to buy a PAL version instead.
Weirdly enough, price for the US version have skyrocketted, while PAL version is always in the 250€ range. PAL version is more beautiful though.

Definitely DDP Daifukatsu for me. I had to sell it because I was skint but I really wished I hadn't.

I think thats a lovely gesture.
I know they'll be safe forever with him, the man worships Treasure. I do miss them in my DC collection though, lol.

I traded Mega Man X, X2 and X3 for a Wii U, Bayonetta 1+2 boxset, and Sin and Punishment Star Successor. Dunno if I really regret it because I love Bayonetta and those games were just collecting dust but I feel like down the road the X collection would have retained more value than it does now.

Most of my PS1 and DC shmups.

I also let go some CIB SNES ones a long time ago because I had them in double with loose carts. Yeah remember, when it didn't matter? Good times. ^^

No shmups but these 2 stick out for me.

Sold my entire DC collection to get a GC when it came out. About 20 games, the console, almost every controller on the system with their boxes and in mint condition. I've since re-bought almost all of it but still kicking myself.

About a year later I traded in Mario 64 and OOT at EB so I could buy Tiger Woods Golf 2003. I don't really regret that because they're not rare and I've replaced them since but it's still probably the dumbest game related transaction I've ever done.

I had a nice japanese MD collection about ten years ago with titles like eliminate down, gleylancer, musha, twinkle tale, undead line and also many non-shmups, stuff like bare knuckle 3, splatter house 3, pulse man etc etc.. good stuff. I can't remember exactly how much I got for it all when I sold it but looking at prices today, yeah I do kind of regret it. I didn't need money desperately at the time or anything really, it was just that the games weren't getting played much so I sold them to buy other things.. should've just kept'em instead so I had them when the urge to play them came back. I refuse to pay what they're going for now, I'd rather buy repros but of course its not the same

Scramble Spirits for the Sega Master System.

The Master System was my first console and this was the first game I bought for it, caringly picked out by my Dad because it resembled games I loved in the arcades (1942, Flying Shark).

But of course youth is only concerned with NEW THINGS and having completed this loads of times, it was now old hat and surplus to requirements - in 1994 I got a SNES and needed money to put towards sparkling new SNES games! So I sold it and a couple of others (Chuck Rock, Alien Storm and one other that wasn't very good anyway) for a tenner. It wasn't really wasted though because said money went towards Cybernator, but the older me had feelings younger me could never have anticipated (or cared about...). Even though I replaced it (once in 2005 with a grotty copy, again with a perfect one last year), I still occasionally lament the loss of My First Console Game™

Nice to see a fellow Aussie shmuper on here!

They would have al been PAL too...

Haha re Tiger woods!

Of late I seem to be buying every cave board I can.. I think its due to the loss of all the grails I had in the past.

Ouch. Yeah definitely a tough one to swallow seeing what they're worth now.

Didn't realize that I wasn't going to be able to renew my lease and had to find a solo place. Ended up selling esprade, dimahoo, strikers 1999, and an extron emotia.

Couldn't find a place so I moved back home for a few months. In the end I could have saved up enough at home but I panicked with about 2 months left to find a new place.
