Anyone have any experience with these? Are they actually brand new or refurbed? How is the quality?
Anyone know much about these (29" arcade monitors)

No idea which tube it is, but the chassis looks like a WeiYa C3129, I'm not touching that junk ever again...
Ordered 2 units new, both death on arrival, mine had a diode blown, my buddy's the HOT, after replacing the HOT it work for a few months and now dead again, can't seem to fix it this time.
He Sent it of for repair, got it back unfixed, guy couldn't help me.
Another well-known arcade crt repair guy refuses to work on these.

I have always wanted the tri sync version. (Line doubled 240p native 640x480)
They are made by Makvision I believe.
The reason I would love one is because you can replace the capacitors easily with cap kits from arcade shops online to keep the picture juicy.
I just helped a friend with reviving a deep sea cabinet and the process of replacing caps was fairly easy.
I can't say the same about my pro monitor. It's picture rules but when it fades I don't think I'll be able to revive it.
But as far as geometry and picture quality goes. I have no idea. I have never owned one.

If a new HOT is blowing after a few months theres probably something inherently wrong in the chassis design... too bad. Did he try adding a larger heatsink to the HOT?PascalP wrote:No idea which tube it is, but the chassis looks like a WeiYa C3129, I'm not touching that junk ever again...

I suppose buying brand new quality CRTs were a bit too good to be true.

The HOT was dead on arrival and worked after replacing, no idea what the problem is now, we can't find it and a local arcade/pinball repair shop also couldn't fix it...Fusion916 wrote:If a new HOT is blowing after a few months theres probably something inherently wrong in the chassis design... too bad.
