Got this unknown PCE gem today. Has anyone else here played it?
I'm really enjoying it.

I wonder if Kiaidan is a homage to 1970s giant robot Anime or if it's based on a real Anime. Couldn't find any info.

Good stuff. I'm stuck at the mid-boss of Stage 7. Reached him on the first try, but havn't gotten past him. I picked it up because of the Alfa System link.

Yeah, it's got to be an homage; it's just too cliche-ridden to be real.

The evil genius Dr. Giga trying to take over the world attacks Tokyo with his 12 underlings. Everything is crushed under Giga's might. But the genius scientist Dr. Sakura has built a super robot named Kiaidan 00 which is piloted by his son Takeshi in order to stop Giga.
The intro is pretty hillarious.. "On Land, in the Air, in Space - the battle of Kiaidan 00 continues!" "Thrills! Suspense! Laughter!"

I really like the game, but I may be biased because I used to be a huge fan of Kidou Senshi Gundam. Still, the graphics are pretty neat and there is enough variety to keep it from being boring.

Yup...and the fact that you have to fist the bosses in order to kill them.

Yeah, I think we got it the first time.

Just to clear this up, you can use any charge attack to defeat a boss after its energy is depleted, or you can even continue "milking" it and it will eventually destruct.
