All multi orders (2+ units) are shipped.
Some orders will be shipped tomorrow and all the rest will be shipped ASAP (for sure this week), might be before weekend.
Heck yeah! That's super awesome, way to go.

Can't wait to order an extra when you put them up.

My birthday was Saturday, so thanks for the late birthday present. =P

I would be lost without my Gscart.

I was just looking into getting another and it seems they are now the lite version. I had assumed it would have LESS functionality, but NOPE, since it has dual scart outputs this time, it is way more useful for me and much easier to use. I had to buy a custom VGA cable for my needs because it didn't have dual scart outputs. I am definitely buying a Lite when they go up for pre-order. Just need to read through this thread to find out when lol

Here's a recap to help. Superg is almost finished shipping the last batch of preorders. When he's done, he will have some extras which will go on sale. Keep watching this post for when he puts those up and you may get one then. He plans to do another run of Lites at a later date, but hasn't set that in stone yet.

Got my lite today. Haven't had a chance to play with it yet since I am still working, but it is so much smaller than I was expecting. Looking forward to getting this hooked up later today.

This question has probably been asked a couple of times before, but i couldn't find a 100% confirmation:

I have the gscartsw 3.4. If i use the VGA-BNC for my BVM, does it simultaneously output to SCART too (so i can use that on my Framemeister), and view both screens at the same time?

Asking this because this would be my main reason to buy the lite and replace the 3.4, for outputting to BVM and XRGB at the same time.

Yes, gscartsw v3.4 simultaneously outputs to both SCART and VGA, you don't have to replace your v3.4 with lite.

So far so good. The lite is working great with my consoles. I have a lot of testing to do still but I don't expect there to be any issues. Can confirm that this works just fine with the Mickcris rgb amp and composite video as sync, for the people that were having issues on pc engines.

Also wanted to add that the colors seem much more vibrant than using using a bandridge automatic.

Just wanted to say again how awesome the gscartsw lite is. It's the crown jewel of my setup really. Worth every penny! It's so nice not having to swap cables into my Framemiester now. I can just turn on any of my consoles at a moment's notice and it instantly changes right over to it. It's made my 'job' of profile development so much easier. Whenever someone has a problem that I need to double-check on my end, I don't have to unpack a console and hook it up. Everything is ready to play on the spot now.

Much appreciated for the awesome product!

I was hoping someone could give me some advice possibly?

I bought 2 gscart lites and a local friend of mine has 2 gscartsw v3.4. We were thinking of swapping so we could both have one of each.

Is there a disadvantage to doing this?

Any advantages?

Thanks in advance for any input anyone gives.

I think the only differences to keep in mind are the low pass filter in the original, which is not in the lite, and the lite also has the digital sync reconstruction circuit, which is not found in the original. Beyond that, you can hook one up to the other in a chain. You probably want the lite to be the last in the chain right before your displays.

This and lite doesn't have VGA separate HV sync.

What does the low pass filter do? Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

My gscartsw_lite arrived today, it was very well packaged and as fas as I can tell, pretty well build, I'm excited!

I've done a couple of videos with my testing, hopefully you'll find them useful, apologies in advance for my rusty english.

Part 2

As you'll see there might be some issues left to be resolved with some PAL consoles.

It was supposed to clean up some garbage introduced by poor cables. In practice if your cables are good you might benefit from removing it (basic soldering skills required).

I got my SCART->SCART cable today (nothing spectacular, this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DYELZXE/ , I may replace it later) and that did the trick, the SNES and Genesis I tried worked great. Thanks!

SO that would indicate there was some sort of wiring issue with the adapter cable, I take it?

IMO, an LPF in the video chain only makes sense if your final device in the chain is a digital device that lacks a 15khz-appropriate LPF at all (like a modern HDTV). CRTs don't need an LPF, and the OSSC has a user-configurable LPF.

DirkSwizzler wrote:So it looks like maybe I can avoid buying an Extron and massage the Garo's output with a Kenzei. Plus, keeping the Kenzei in the chain means I leave myself an open door for using the Aten to hook up other VGA sources. All funneling to RGBS SCART on the 3.4 for maximum auto-switching goodness.
Got my Aten in the mail today to try out the "all paths lead to VGA" setup I mentioned. Everything worked great except for one bad interaction between the gacartsw 3.4 and the Kenzei.

My Neo Geo AES uses a retrogamingcables.co.uk csync scart cable that's plugged directly into the gscartsw 3.4 port 1. The RGBHV output of the gscartsw 3.4 going into the Kenzei into a framemeister caused sync issue that doesn't reproduce for any other scart device hooked into the gscartsw. And does not reproduce when the scart output of the 3.4 goes directly into the framemeister.

I tried running the neo geo through a gscartsw lite that chains into the 3.4 while sync regeneration was on and that didn't make a difference.

I don't have an oscilloscope or the skills to use one. So the bad interaction seemed worth mentioning as an edge case in case someone more electrically skilled can investigate.

The 3.4 will automatically use port 8 if no sync is detected, whereas the lite will not forward the signal if no sync is detected.

This 3.4 feature is useful for using sync on green for 480p on PS2 or for forwarding YPbPr using a component to SCART adapter, as neither of these have a signal on the sync pin. I think that having a lite+3.4 is the perfect combo and more versatile than having 2 of either.

If the Kenzei combines HV sync into csync using the same method as the Garo (which makes sense since it's the same designer), then it'd be the same problem, that it uses an incorrect method for combining sync, producing a signal that works on some displays but not others.

Yeah, I'm quite interested in knowing if that particular RCA cable is incompatible or if you just got a faulty cable. I just received my gscartsw_lite and realized I don't have a male SCART cable to go to my Framemeister and was thinking of ordering the same cable you have... Please keep us updated on your findings.
