Nes 101 (Toploader ) expansion audio resistor value?

Post by Sega90s »

Hi, new to the forum with a question on what the proper resistor value for this mod would be. I've read this post http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?t=7880 but ,it does not state this will work for an original cart only powerPak or Everdrive. I'm planning on doing this for Castlevania 3 Japanese version.

47k for real cartridges or 1.2k for everdrive/powerpak

Does this need any other component besides the resistor to make it work properly? My top loader is AV modded with the audio coming from the pin right were the RF module used to be. It is then routed to a TRRS jack to both audio pins.

No need, but you have to use the NESRGB's audio mixer.

Tried 20k ohm and no expansion sound comes out. Using 1.2k ohm makes expansion audio drown out the normal audio. Will try and get some 5k and 10k ohm resistors to see if it matches my front loader.
