Wow, episode 11 was kicking a lot of weird ass, all right. Loved it.

I enjoyed every second of that. Too much to go in to, all great, no down time. That whole sequence of Bobby, Shelly and their daughter was brilliant. The shots fired, the kid with the gun, the "we're late", the green puke kid and Bobby's reaction to the whole damn thing.
Fuck me what an episode. What an opening. It had the right balance of everything.

Aaagh, I'm trying to keep myself relatively unspoiled. I am up through episode 5, and I have the benefit of not need to wait a week for my fix... Though my family have all become Twin Peaks nuts as well (kinda), so I can't binge like I would like to - gotta get the whole gang together.

Goddamn I hate Jim Belushi. I expect a...different...style of acting in Twin Peaks stuff, but his overacting is horrible. Still, an excellent episode in spite of him.

I'm not a fan of his either but I think he's nailing it in this. Love the Mitchums and I think he's perfectly cast. He also looks like he's enjoying himself.Damocles wrote:Goddamn I hate Jim Belushi. Had a bit of time to process.
Harry Dean with the flute to call his ride!, Bill Hastings head exploding and everyone seeing the soot men but not really making a big deal out of it. Weird. I have no idea what's going on with Diane.
Alicia Witt turning up with Steve (I think), hiding under the stars after that brilliant steadycam shot through the hallway. You would have to think she's playing the same character as in Season 2.
Shelly snogging that douchebag and again Bobby's reaction ( this guy is the king of reaction shots).
The Mitchums howling with joy - well you would wouldn't you. Big Ed's gas farm gets a mention, so how long before we see Ed? The fucking green puke zombie kid, can't get over it. So much.
And the teacher is alive.
I think the key is not to expect too much. Next week we could be transported back to the 50's for an hour. Who knows.

Gersten Hayward, as said in the critics. An eagle-eyed fan spotted that on Reddit. Talk about subtle.Alicia Witt turning up with Steve (I think),
I would assume not... the episode title is "Let's Rock". If it was "Let's do the twist"...I think the key is not to expect too much. Next week we could be transported back to the 50's for an hour. Who knows.

Re: David Lynch-gasm: Twin Peaks The Return [SPOILERS GALORE
Not sure I've seen anything that confirms that. IIRC Bob takes Earle's soul and THEN evil Cooper emerges to yuck it up with Bob. And Earle has knowledge of the inner workings of the blue rose branch of the FBI. He knows Jefferies. He could hack a penitentiary.

Remember in the penitentiary, bad coop looks in the mirror, sees Bob, and says, "you're still with me". It's Earle trapped in bad coop. Bob chooses to stay as part of a bigger plan.He says that Earle can’t ask for Cooper’s soul, and so he will take Windom’s soul instead. After a burst of flame emerges from Earle’s body, Windom Earle goes silent, seemingly dead. Cooper leaves the room and an evil doppelganger of Cooper appears from behind the curtain

I wonder where the dog legs Evil Cooper sent out ended up. God, I love this show.

Re: David Lynch-gasm: Twin Peaks The Return [SPOILERS GALORE
"You're still with me" - he was talking to Bob (who is now most likely not with him). It was Frank Silva's face he semi-morphed into. Also, I don't think Windam Earl was a Lynch character, so the chances of him being in the current series is pretty slim.antron wrote: Remember in the penitentiary, bad coop looks in the mirror, sees Bob, and says, "you're still with me". Well, we are in agreement that there is someone else in bad coop other than Bob, but I don't know why you think Bob has left. Bob saved this person after he was shot, for some reason.
We've never seen anyone in the show who has the capacity to do the things evil Cooper has been doing, other than Earle. And we know he was in the lodge just prior to evil Cooper coming out.

Actually not.antron wrote:Well, we are in agreement that there is someone else in bad coop other than Bob, but I don't know why you think Bob has left. Bob saved this person after he was shot, for some reason.
Up until ep 8:
Cooper Doppleganger + Bob. "You're still with me..." was the doppleganger talking to Bob.
After episode 8:
Questionably Bob extracted from Cooper's Doppleganger, meaning he's just cruising around being an asshole on his own. Never know for sure though.
70% of the men in this show are abusive assholes. Throw a rock and you can hit one. Evil coop, being a doppleganger, is sufficient enough to be as horrible as he is. In FWWM, Annie even said "The good Dale is in the Lodge, and he can't leave." That's the good dale. The other one is the bad Dale. Doesn't need anyone's help to be evil. We've never seen anyone in the show who has the capacity to do the things evil Cooper has been doing, other than Earle. And we know he was in the lodge just prior to evil Cooper coming out.
That's my take on it though... 7 more episodes.

I was thinking more along the lines of mental capacity. There is also the obsession with playing cards. Earle's queens in episode 25 and bad Coop's black lodge ace.

Re: David Lynch-gasm: Twin Peaks The Return [SPOILERS GALORE
I would think cooper's mentally capable on his own. We'll just have to wait and see. The actor is not listed in the cast (which doesn't mean anything in Twin Peaks), and again, he was never really a Lynch character... added on in the S2 Lull after they fucked up and revealed the killer. I'd be surprised if his name was even mentioned. Annie is far more important considering her fate was left open, and all we've gotten in regards to her was a mention.antron wrote:I was thinking more along the lines of mental capacity. Did Lynch and Frost reveal the killer before episode 16 (when Leland/bob confesses)? If not they set up the Earle thing in the very episode. When Cooper asks if he killed Laura Palmer, Leland hoots and says, “that’s a yes.” He admits killing Maddy because he has a “thing for knives, just like what happened to you in Pittsburgh.

Re: David Lynch-gasm: Twin Peaks The Return [SPOILERS GALORE
SourceThe second season of Twin Peaks introduces two major characters who were developed by Mark Frost, not David Lynch: former FBI agent and Cooper rival Windom Earle, and Annie Blackburn, portrayed by now movie star Heather Graham. Blackburn showed up in the movie, which David Lynch directed, but other than that, the post-Lynch season 2 characters didn’t play much of a role in the movie. And we know Lynch didn’t love what happened after he left. But both Earle and Blackburn played a key role in the plot of the second season, and both of their stories, to varying degrees, ended in cliffhangers. Earle may be dead, but hey, the Black Lodge has weird rules.

Re: David Lynch-gasm: Twin Peaks The Return [SPOILERS GALORE
Good moments but not a patch on last weeks episode. I noticed the hot chick from season 2 of Eastbound and Down turn up at the Roadhouse, also the guy who almost got run off the road was in Mulholland Drive. Who the fuck were they talking about?
I enjoyed the Audrey scene for what it was... I guess she was talking about the guy who owned the pick up truck. Is Chuck Ben's grandson? Must be as he's the one who took it and killed the kid. Didn't Jerry Horne also lose his van?
6 episodes to go and the last 2 are airing on the same night.

It wasn't as good as last week's, but it's not worth all the hate rage it's getting. There was a lot of subtle advancement (Sarah Palmer anyone?) and I thought the Audrey scene was pretty fucking brilliant. I couldn't place the gal in the bar until you mentioned it... now I know. Maybe b/c I'm not an assman... I'm a tit man.dan76 wrote:Good moments but not a patch on last weeks episode. The kid was killed by Richard... no? Jerry has lost more than his van I'm afraid...
I will for sure not see the last two until probably the following Tuesday. The 3rd episode I might not get to see as well. Gonna be a bitch staying off the internet.6 episodes to go and the last 2 are airing on the same night.
Episode titles for 13-16:
Part 13: What story is that, Charlie? (August 6, 2017)
Part 14: We are like the dreamer. (August 13, 2017)
Part 15: There’s some fear in letting go. (August 20, 2017)
Part 16: No knock, no doorbell. (August 27, 2017)

I can't believe I took this long to realise that this thread exists.
About the current state of the series, it is good to see that were slowly getting more focused on the town of Twin Peaks, wich could also be the new destiny of the FBI.
Also, the scene with Gordon telling that he worries about Albert is unintencionaly kind of sad when I remembered about the death of Miguel Ferrer. He's with Phillip Jeffries now.

Welcome! And grab yourself some coffee.
Indeed... it pulled a bit at the heart strings. Albert strikes me as something that can't enjoy much in life (even though he had a hot date), whereas Cole doesn't mind taking a break to enjoy the finer things in life, like a nice Bordeaux or a French hooker. Also, the scene with Gordon telling that he worries about Albert is unintencionaly kind of sad when I remembered about the death of Miguel Ferrer. Apparently Michael Ontkean declined to return as H S Truman in the reboot, as he has "retired". I suspect Lynch and Frost are repeatedly taunting him with the phone call dialog to his old character. "you'll get through this".
