Sony Trinitron with native 16:9 ratio
Hi guys! Recently I discovered Sony Trinitron KV-24WX1B and I wonder - if this native 16:9 has any advantages over standard 4:3 ratio when playing with 240p/ 480i games like SNES or GameCube?

The only advantage a 16:9 display has over a 4:3 display for SNES games is the ability to see all side picture information that might be cut off from overscan on a 4:3 display. Of course, you can calibrate a 4:3 display for no overscan.
For the GameCube, many games supported an anamorphic 16:9 aspect ratio. So this is where the Sony Trinitron KV-24WX1B will be most useful for.

GeneraLight thank you for reply. You have forced me to check what is overscan. Anyway now I know that this model has BE-3D chassis and it seems a decent consumer grade CRT TV.
