A JVC TM-H150cg with RGB/Comp card is very light and easy to move around. Its lightness may or may not relate directly to its ruggedness, however. I would definitely prefer a shadow mask to an aperture grille for something I intended on toting around though. The BM-H line also seem good and have gone very cheap on eBay in the past. They're mid-late 90s.

They made those in red too, I actually had a KV-1397R but it was in silver and wood grain as opposed to some funky color. I do like the design though, Sony used it on several other TVs including a PVM.

They had a lineup of colors, at least in other countries. I believe I've seen a blue as well. If there's a tv I'd add RGB to, it's that one.

The "Perfect View" TV came in on Thursday, the picture quality isn't too great (natch, it only has composite and RF) and it has some minor geometry problems but goddamn I love how this TV looks.

Are you going to tinker with it?

I feel like since it looks so good, it wouldn't hurt to get a proper space age table or something to go along with it as a set piece.

Couple 8" and 9" PVM's I've been messing with for a mini emulation station. Not pictured is an Ikegami TM9-3 which I think I like the best (has an on-screen menu and all!).

For those in the USA, here's a lead that might lead into something. Panasonic WV-CM1470 is a 13" S-video monitor that looks pretty interesting. Since it has been sold as a CCTV unit, there could be loads out there. And they could all have horrible burn in too...

And anyone in USA or PAL land, the Panasonic WV-CM1000/G is a super sharp 9" composite only little fella with easily accessible adjustment dials in the front panel. Especially nice for PC Engine games! I've been playing my HuCard games more than ever now that I have this thing on my desk.

At some point if I feel adventurous I might do a recap and adjust the geometry. It's pretty simple inside with just a single board and the tube itself, and it even has a physical switch to turn on the service mode (!). But there's not much else I can do with this set, its OSD is generated through color differences and so it can't really be modded for RGB, at least not easily.

That's a great looking picture for a composite signal! It's always cool to have a set that handles composite well, sometimes you might end picking a composite-only console and then it'll be very useful. I personally might pick up a lil' Pc Engine. Or more probably : a Coregrafx

Yeah I think so ... this one was part of "Space Command" (remote name - like a line of TVs in the 80s I guess, I m not sure)

14 inches for sure qualifies imo. You can't really be much more than a foot or two away to use a monitor of that size.

Small is subjective, but during the golden age of our beloved systems a 20 to 24ish inch set what was the family would watch in the living room. Kids rooms often had a 13 inch. So for most of us, small means ~13 and lower.

I'd say it's any single person screen. A 20 can accommodate two players comfortably but it's a bit cramped for a 13.

While small is somewhat subjective, I would put anything 17" and over into medium class. Anything between 17" and 13~14" is in the grey area and it really depends on how bulky the casing is if it can be deemed small. If you need to lug it and can't hug it, it's not small.
