Mimo Genius II Questions

Post by strygo »

I recently picked up a Mimo Genius II to downscale 480i/480p to 240p on a PVM. Compared to other options I tried, the Genius really can't be beat. The quality is great - significantly better than my attempts with the Extron Rxi 201.

I do have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone might have answers for:

- The video signal is offset slightly (about 1/2") on the right side. Basically, no tuning of the Genius settings will have the image take up the whole width of the display. Any increase of the width in the settings just causes the right side of the image to be truncated. I've also tried using an Rxi 201 to adjust the horizontal position but its H-Shift option doesn't seem to work for me (V-Shift works fine :x). I'm hoping I'm missing something obvious.

- The OSD displays any time the signal changes. Not a huge deal, but also slightly annoying. Any way to disable this behavior?

Thanks for your help!

I was able to solve my first problem. I feel stupid for not considering this - but my PVM has a service menu (accessed via Degauss + Enter when the normal menu is displayed). From the service menu, I can make the necessary adjustments to the image as needed. I guess I assumed that since it was a "pro" display that any settings would be immediately available from the main menu.

I have a question into Mimo about the OSD issue, so I'm hoping there might be a solution to that.
