At first they thought it was a simple game, but then the game began to take their very souls...
It was called the DARK ROOM, and consumed all who dared solve its deceptively dark puzzles.
Those who escaped with sanity intact are few and seldom ever quite the same from the experience. But something fouler, more devious, more mind-bending....rasps it's hollow breath in the deeper, darker places.
The Mind is a terrible thing....to waste.
The DARK COMPLEX awaits...
Can you escape it?
Can you escape it?
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

The First Game operates on the initial principal that you understand basic Color Logic.
Red
Yellow
Blue
Red+Yellow=Orange
Red+Blue=Purple
Yellow+Blue=Green
Red+Blue+Yellow=White
Activate the colors to activate the gates.
If you still feel lost, look for colors on the panels that don't match the rest of the walls. North, West, South.
Minor Hints on the Puzzles
Red: Dice
Yellow: Plus is blocked by Arrows
Blue: Maze
Orange: Match em up
Purple: Don't touch the bugs.
Green: Click adjacent, don't click touching.
White: Align the Planets from their respective Worlds.
As for Dark Complex, I haven't solved everything as of yet, but you'll get the jist of what to do once you solve Dark Room. Color and Light are everything you need, really.

I'm liking it. It's kinda like that movie, The Cube. I loved that.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Great movie, awesome premise. The end was a bit weak, though, imo. *shrug*Ghegs wrote:I'm liking it. It's kinda like that movie, The Cube. I loved that.
This game is really interesting! Nothing like another distraction from work

Planarity is another good one.
It's because people can get easily lost that I gave hints. 3D Puzzles are probably very confusing to most people. Heck, I still don't know how to solve the Rubick's Cube.nem wrote:Dark Room was awesome. I do think you gave away too much, Blade. None of the puzzles are that hard that you couldn't solve them on your own. Good thing I only skimmed through your post.
However, in Dark Complex I'm just totally lost.
As far as Dark Complex though, as far as I know, the Puzzle itself seems to have more layers now than Dark Room.
Each of the sides of the Cube are either gates to other puzzle color sets or they unlock the next level of that particular puzzle, either by lighting something up or lining up a set of glyphs with the Whirr-click noise...the glyphs have to be lit up for that to work though. Usually entering the next room is through the top of the cube and going to the previous room is through one of the side portals. Entering and solving the actual puzzles is done by pressing the Top Corner Button thingie like the first Dark Room game. You can also press it twice to reset puzzles if you get lost on one.
That's all I know so far though...the rest is mostly guesswork. Although it helps to know a little about sliding block puzzles for this one.

There should be a flashing dot in the middle of the first screen.
Do I have to explain everything? I thought this was a Shmups forum where people could figure stuff out on the fly..
