Is Crimzon Clover on Steam broken for anyone else?
Had the game since December, all of a sudden game launches into black screen. Uninstalled, reinstalled, tried a windowed mode, tried compatibility and 640x480, updated drivers, nothing.

Try turning your PC on and off

I have the GoG version cause no DRM is nice...
Have you tried deleting the save/config files for the game? There are some issues with it if you play it in vertical hi res modes where if VSYNC is off it'll give a black screen. Can you hear the game and navigate the menu while the screen is black?

I can. I uninstalled and removed all my local files using revo, no dice.BareKnuckleRoo wrote:I have the GoG version cause no DRM is nice...

What is 'revo'? I will confirm where the GoG files are stored locally, but I am not familiar with how Steam stores save and config files (are they stored locally on the machine, are they on Steam's server...?).harrytasker wrote:I can. I uninstalled and removed all my local files using revo
Wait, are you referring to this? https://www.revouninstaller.com/
If so, you will need to actually locate the physical save and config files. Relying on a third party that has no association to Steam or the game itself to do it for you is a Bad Idea.
Some quick searching suggests the files you're looking for would be under Steam\steamapps\common\Crimzon Clover\data and the config file will be an obvious config.dat
Can you think of any hardware or software changes that occurred since the last time you played the game? Or has it been a while since you played?
Re: Is Crimzon Clover on Steam broken for anyone else?
I had this problem after I upgraded to Windows 10, worked fine under Windows 7. It would work fine in Windowed mode but as soon as I switched to full screen it would black screen.
What I did was switch the internal resolution down to the low option, I think it was 640x480. Then change the full screen resolution to 1920x1080, and change to full screen. I actually got a picture, then I was able to change the internal resolution back to High and turn Vsync on in-game.
I'm using a Radeon RX 570 with Vsync forced to "Off" in Radeon Settings. I'm not sure why forcing Vsync off in the graphics card properties but on in-game works but that's what gets me the best feel and smoothest look in Windows 10 with my setup.
Hopefully that helps.

It's recommended you leave VSync off in-game too, since that adds an extra frame or two of input lag (same applies to the Touhou PC games which have VSync removal patches to address this). The screen tearing is a minor inconvenience and doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the game compared to the additional input lag.

I had the same issue a while back. IIRC it was a 64/32-bit problem with DirectX. Just can't find the thread where it was discussed now
Have you tried Adam's fix-it thread? http://steamcommunity.com/app/464450/di ... 322245033/
