$60 is about the normal price for a new game today anyway.
Bite the bullet and pay the money.

Uhhhm... Sorry, but considering the CDR I had of Chaos Field gave me more entertainment for 7 seconds in the microwave, I'm not gambling that much on Milestone until they reach the status quo-- and especially not anytime soon, seeing as I'm saving up for a GP2X and components. :? If the evaluation copy I intend to make impresses me, I mean really impresses me, I'll pay $60 for it. Keep in mind $60 is barely under the going price for Ibara-- which I already own, but what I'm saying, is unless a game can run with the wolves, it shouldn't cost as much as a top-notch game. :? Maybe if Milestone makes a name for themselves, they'd be able to charge that much... Otherwise, it's like comparing Shadow The Hedgehog to Devil May Cry 3. Two $50 games, one with a bad rep, the other with a good rep... Which is the obvious winner? ;o Another example: Doujin shooters, like the ZUN games, Angeraze, Noiz2sa, Barrage Tribe, etc... are, to me, more fun than Chaos Field. Perhaps Milestone should recognize their place, and stick to making doujin games at a doujin game price, rather than $60 games which are put to shame by the likes of ZUN.

Then again, all this is based on the biased assumption that Radilgy is not up to the quality of, say, Cave, Skonec, the late 8ing, or ZUN. Am I perhaps wrong? o_O I'd like to believe the game is significantly better than Chaos Field... if not, maybe I shouldn't even waste a CDR on this one. -_-

So, if the game is just average, you'll just keep the burned copy and not pay the $60? I love how people try to rationalize illegal activities. Stealing games that just came out is pretty low. Just because what you steal is of lesser quality than you had hoped doesn't justify your stealing it in the first place (I mean, this is essentially your argument!). If you think the price is too high, don't buy it, don't play it! It's not very complicated. :?

Ah, but here's the thing: if I have a pirated game that doesn't grab me, it eventually collects dust, and ultimately becomes a drink coaster. If it impresses me, I will buy it. Shelling out $60 for a product from a company you're not fond of is like playing russian roulette with one empty chamber.

For instance: If you, for any given reason, didn't like the original Donpachi, and you heard that Dodonpachi was much better, wouldn't you be skeptical at first? Wouldn't you want to know exactly what you're getting yourself into before shelling out the cash? Evaluation copies are called evaluation copies for a reason. If I enjoy the game, I'll support the company and pay their price. If I don't enjoy it, then I'm freakin' glad I didn't waste my money on their garbage. (i.e. Chaos Field)

In video-games terms (which isn't as serious as many other things in life), it's the lowest of the low when you steal a game that just came out. But I've learned there isn't much sense arguing about it - there will always be thieves who rip new games and no legal harm will ever come of someone downloading the game and playing it for free - it's up to the rest of us to support the effort in good conscience. I'd recommend people buy it - play it and if you don't like it, sell it (small print-run DC shooters tend to retain their value - even Chaos Field which came out for a low $43 price). Think of it as a cheap rental.

I'm brining my copy of Raj down to the local gamestore at lunch - some of the employees wanted to give it a spin as they were amazed that new Dreamcast games were still coming out. Hopefully I'll turn a few onto the game!

Can someone just hurry up and ban Zweihander to save us from having to read the same tat each and everytime a new game is released that he feels is questionable.

If the guy had any class to begin with he wouldn't air it in public everytime.
