Would this 8Bitdo Daisychain work?

Post by jade88 »

So I'm moving my setup to an HD TV, complete with an XRGB Mini.

That got me thinking about my controller situation. Can I use an 8bitdo receiver to connect a wiimote to my NES and than use an adapter to connect an OG NES controller to the Wiimote?

Does that Daisy Chain Work?

Wouldn't it make more sense to use the 8bitdo NES30 controller with the 8bitdo receiver?

I just can't stand the extra buttons.

Your proposed setup should work, as I just tested the following setup:

Wii Classic Controller (RVL-005) -> Wiimote (RVL-003) -> 8bitdo SNES Retro Receiver -> SNES

The setup worked fine, with the buttons on the classic controller being detected by the SNES.

I don't have the NES retro receiver or an NES-to-wiimote adapter.

EDIT: I got a bit closer to your scenario by connecting my SNES retro receiver to my NES using an adapter cable that I made, that worked too with the wii classic controller through the wiimote, although it seemed like there could have been a very slight amount of lag? Not enough to be sure.

Thank you! Big help!

It's good to know that these receivers pick up controllers used on the Wiimote. I was afraid it wouldn't, I had read as much on other sites. Must be a new firmware update? At least newer than a year or so ago.
