Just got an interesting e-mail from PCEWorks based out of Germany and they are currently selling a bundled set of Splatterworks and Magical Chase (which includes a reproduction JPN region Hu-Card each of of both classic PCE game titles). The reproduction Hu-Cards of SW & MC are made by TG-16 PCE Mods of Canada (and includes a handy crystal-clear PCMCIA carrying case with the Hu-Card inserted inside it for storage and posterity). The asking price is 229 euros for them both as a bundled set. This is the only limited set to be able to get a repro MC Hu-Card these days (aside from getting a genuine PCE MC Hu-Card and paying more $$$ for it).

http://www.tg16pcemods.com/reproduction-hucards.html (it's cheaper to get a TTI version of MC as a repro Hu-Card through them, indeed, in either the slick all-black colored Hu-Card or traditional classic white-colored Hu-Card setup).
What's interesting about TTI (Turbo Technologies Incorporated) is, that they managed to release the Hu-Card of Magical Chase (alongside with the Hu-Card release of Legend of Hero Tonma as well) on December 31st 1993. It wasn't until February of 1994 that the American retailer, Toys-R-Us, had gotten them in stock to sell to the general public. Instead of giving it the usual retail pricing of what a typical brand new released TTI Hu-Card based game would be priced at (i.e. -- $49.99 to $54.99), it was priced at a mere $19.99 USD and listed in the bargin bin selection of the TurboGrafx-16 games aisle. There was absolutely no mention of it being a new game whatsoever (this applied to TTI's release of Legend of Hero Tonma also). Of course, all the remaining unsold MC game stock that TTI had left in stock/inventory, they ended up selling it to the So-Cal mail-order business, TurboZone Direct, and they in turn sold it at a higher price-point: $39.99 USD back in 1995-1997 until it was depleted/sold out. True story there, folks.

Seems pricey for repros.

It does seem a bit expensive for repros...but if you do get a repro direct from tg16pcemods site themselves, the cost factor isn't so high and more easier on the ol' wallet/purse. Not to mention that you can get repro Supergrafx Hu-Cards from them as well.
