Streamers needed for STGWeekly!

Post by STGWeekly »

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for your interest in joining STGWeekly. We are now officially full for host roles.

What we now need are a couple of streamers, since Aquas usually does the streaming and we want to get more people involved to host the new eps that will be coming out.

Streamer: You would host the stream, transition through title card graphics and showing superplay videos. You would stream through Twitch using Open Broadcasting Software or XSplit.

Please go to this short form and fill it out! https://goo.gl/a6ghSS

Looking forward to having you aboard!
Spoiler
Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce that STGWeekly is opening applications! With STG Weekly’s thousands of followers on YouTube and Twitter, your voice will be heard!

These are the different roles:

Knowledgeable commentator: You are an expert in the game being reviewed and can explain the mechanics of a particular shmup(s) You would be able to provide a replay video(s) not necessarily yours of of high visual quality (preferably at least 720p).

Host: You would ask the knowledgeable commentator questions during the episode and facilitate interaction between the knowledgeable commentator, other guests, and the Twitch chat, forwarding their questions and explaining their comments.

Streamer: You would host the stream, transition through title card graphics and showing superplay videos. You would stream through Twitch using Open Broadcasting Software or XSplit.

Other role? Please mark other and explain which role you had in mind.

All roles would need: A microphone and Discord account to commentate during episodes.

Or instead of about an episode instead of focusing on a particular game, but one that discusses design or another shmup-related topic you’d like to cover? You could also do a podcast episode or maybe showing off your shmup collection, the possibilities are endless (Thanks Shepardus!).

We also have indie STG devs that would like their game reviewed. They would provide a review copy to you and you would appear on a video or you could also write an article about the game.

Question about the application:
We also have indie STG devs that would like their game reviewed. They would provide a review copy to you and you would appear on a video or you could also write an article about the game.
Is there an STGWeekly website where such an article would be posted?

Hi Shepardus,

Eventually we would try to get our own website or restart the blog, but for now we'd try to post on Facebook or perhaps here under "reviews" for now.

Role:

Uncultured swine and terrible player: Do you think you're a terrible player with almost no knowledge of shumps? You're ashamed you can't even 1CC the first loop of Batsugun Special? CAVE's easy modes are nigh impossible for you to clear?
Don't worry, we're here to show you that there's always someone worse than you, someone who'll make you actually feel like a legit player. Don't give your hopes up.

This.

I'll consider applying for a few games I'm somewhat knowledgeable about, just in case.
Apart from that, could you guys please keep a topic updated with the next scheduled shows/broadcasts? I always end up missing a lot of them, and watching the youtube replay isn't the same. Or maybe you already advertise the schedule on another platform?

They have a thread here but it's not always updated before the episode airs. They also have a Twitter though episodes are sometimes only announced just before the episode starts. They generally air at about noon PST/PDT on Sundays, though.

We'll be getting back to applicants after Wednesday.

Good to hear there is an interest for writing reviews. We'll try to get something like that together as well. Probably a blog?

What do you all think?
