The only problem I have with the movie is that it ended on a pretty downbeat note, considering Yondu sacrificed himself to save Peter, not counting the mid and post credits scenes. Another problem I had with the movie was the destruction of the Dairy Queen restaurant in the climax, when that restaurant was promoting the movie. It's like the movie turned its back on DQ and we had Power Rangers all over again, when Power Rangers destroyed a Krispy Kreme.

What Lies Beneath: **

Pretty by-the-book 2000 thriller/horror film starring Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer's bare feet and a haunted bathtub. Hits pretty much every single genre cliche along the way to a predictable story with a predictable ending.

Marlon Brando plays a motorcycle gang, I mean club, leader that gets in trouble while visiting a quiet town with a weak cop. Very interesting to watch just for the 50's lingo.

Wow, superb sceneries and backgrounds!
The story wasn't all that great, but it worked right until the end. Jen and Kira's puppets were kind of ugly, though, and not in the same manner as the Skeksis were. This must have been expensive as fuck for Jim Henson.

Wasn't good throughout, but it had some decent bits in it. I really should try and get some blu rays that are musical and test my system a bit. As for the movie, its about a 6/10. Not great, but not bad either, just something to pass the time.

Really good story about a circus trapeze act with Burt Lancaster. Lola is quite the manipulative bitch, holy shit. Very funny dialogue sometimes, even during the tough shit that is circus performance.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
Great western with Paul Newman and Robert Redford playing said robbers. Music was lovely, the acting was great. The yellowish scenes that emulate the photographs from that time were nicely done.

I know this one was critically acclaimed and won several Oscars, but I really didn't care for it much. There's a difference between trying to appear clever and actually being clever with a plot, and this one feels like it's using a gigantic special effects budget to hide the fact that there isn't much substance to it. All the characters felt cliched and generic, and if you strip away all theCG and flash you end up with little more than 2 1/2 hours of Leonardo DiCaprio trying and falling to win an Oscar.

Star Trek Beyond
I enjoyed this. I didn't go into it with any expectations, and was surprised at a decent movie. Felt the most trek-like of the 3 reboots, and nothing trek movie wise will ever be as bad as Star Trek V, the god movie.

Crime Story
One of Jackie Chan's best movies. He just kicks ass pretty much the entire movie and some of the closeup shots of his reactions are really well done. One of his few movies where he's in kickass mode the entire movie. Looks good on blu-ray!

Like, all of them. Started to grate when it became clear that they were going to do this every time something vaguely serious happened.

I saw that film yesterday too and i also liked it, but i´m really with you on your opinion, the line "i´m groot" almost ruined the ending scenes for me...

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Tooooooo loooooooong

Really could have snipped this down in the editing room by 25 minutes. Was genuinely sleepy in the dragging parts. There were so many unfunny, redundant humour attempts and leaden dialogue scenes that they could have easily made it more lean. The story with Starlord's daddy was boring and dragged out ages before something actually happened - it was the sort of thing other movies wrap up in the first 30 minutes.

Overall it was entertaining enough, although no great shakes in either the Hollywood world or that of superheroes. It had amusing moments despite the 'humour' being the same stock American type that gets really grating because it's all about long pauses, double takes, calling people by celebrity names as means of an insult, and getting away with no real punchline. It's akin to Disney cartoon humour, basically.

Works well as a Saturday morning cartoon turned movie, if you take it that way. Some fun stuff, Kurt Russell is ever welcome, and the green chick is still shit.

The ending was upbeat, but I still feel they can't capture an actual sense of 'adventure' the way it was done in the 80s and occasional 90s feature. It lacks a cohesion and movement. It seems like it's all there what with side stories and stuff, but it ain't got the creative power of ESB or Temple of Doom.

I'd give it a healthy 6.5

Saw it last year. Brando is the ice in that one. The Black Rebels Motorcycle Club! With matching leather jackets! Neat stunts with the 'cycles. Lee Marvin's Chino is almost a scene stealer: "I love you, Johnny! I missed ya. The boys sure missed ya. All the Beetles missed ya. Let's have a beer." Ditch the squeeze, brother! They will never understand you! Just ride, man. Ride!
