Ok guys, it seems I'm getting a Thunder Cross PCB. Turns out it's the US version though! According to the Xenocide files, it looks like I'd MUCH rather have the Jp version. What I want to know is...how hard would it be to get someone to burn the Jp ROMs onto new chips for me? I'd LOVE to turn mine into the Jp version...
Can anyone do this for me? Or at least give me the ROMs? I know a couple people with EPROM burners.

Try contacting http://hobbyroms.com/. They can supply/burn 2 eproms including shipping for $15. Just email him the roms you want to burn, and he will tell you what option to click on the website to pay via paypal. 1 week later you will have your eproms. Awsome service that I highly recommend.

Just a quick resurrect on this....got the board today so I'm more motivated now!
Anyone know where I can get the actual Jp ROMs so I can have hobbyroms burn em to EPROMs for me? This game is ok in the US version, but I suspect I'd enjoy the Jp one a LOT more!
Also, will it be a problem to just burn the EPROMs and swap em? Or are Jp boards usually a bit different than their US counterparts?

You don't want the jp roms you want the alternate US roms.
there are in fact 2 us romsets, and one of them is the good version. If you start on a orangeish green stage with 0 options you have the good roms. If you start on some sityscape you've got the bad ones.
If you need the good US roms, send me a PM. Just burn and swap, afaik.
I know roms arent' supposed to be traded here, but i think this is ok, as i owould only send apartial romset.

I think I have a weird orange/green background but I can't power it up now...wife's asleep. From Malc's review on the Xenocide files tho, the Jp version has COMPLETELY different weapons instead of just the upgradable options that the US has. In the Jp version it says you get a bunch of main ship weapons, not just the vulcan. If that's the case...I want the Jp ROMs...if they'll work with my US board....

Today I received an English Thunder Cross PCB, which plays exactly like the Japanese one.
Is this the alternate US version you guys were talking about?
