I finally got the time to test out my Sony KV-C27 which i got this winter. The focus, convergence and colors are amazing on this set. The linearity/geometry, however, needs to be adjusted. This is done by the pots on the back of the TV and i've never done this before. I know this is dangerous and i know where NOT to touch, but i need some help on where to start. Should i work my way through these in any particular order? I will be using the 240p Test Suite (PC Engine CD). The pots are as follows:
Dial horizontal and vertical size to be slightly smaller than the tube's edges, tweak all other geometry settings until you're happy, then last of all dial up horizontal and vertical size so the edges are slightly off the screen. You'll want to go through all settings a few times as some of them interact with each other...
Thanks a lot! I'm having a hard time getting the vertical linearity to look good though. It's like the image is being sucked towards the bottom of the screen. Will try and tweak a few things. I'm definitely starting to get the CRT blues here
I would like to know if there is a preferred order to tackling this stuff as well. A lot of these settings push and pull on each other and it can be tough to get it dialed in. I need to burn 240p suite on a CD for my SegaCD and tweak my setup too.

Has the set ever been serviced? By now the caps are ready for replacement. Capacitors that have gone out of spec can cause all kinds of geometry problems that no amount of adjusting can fix.
