Dreamcast / Hanzo / Atlona AT-HD500 No signal?

So I'm trying to run my Dreamcast with a Hanzo VGA box to an Atlona AT-HD500 scaler to my tv via HDMI and I just keep ending up with no signal.

I've tried it with two of my tvs, a UN40J5200 and an Ln40a550p3f. I've tried a few HDMI cords and multiple hdmi ports on the tvs with no luck.

I checked the vga box and it works with straight vga. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with the scaler. Am I missing something here?

Any help would be appreciated.

How is your Hanzo set up?
Does it work if you connect it via VGA directly to a PC monitor?

I know my Hanzo has a small error in the marking on the PCB, meaning the VGA/RGB switch is actually the other way around...

I did test the hanzo without the atlona on an old Samsung syncmaster pc monitor and it worked just fine using vga. This is also the second time I've tried using an Atlona product with no luck. I first tried a Atlona AT‑HD510VGA with no luck.

I'll try finding another tv to test on somewhere. Im curious though, if you just plug in the Atlona via hdmi to a tv without anything hooked into it, should the menu settings still appear on the screen? Right now my tv just doesnt see any input whatsoever.
